Rose stood outside,
in the chilly air,
For what seemed like hours,
Until she had enough courage,
To walk inside.

The police station was warm,
Friendly looking,
Busy,
Sort of homey.

People in navy colored uniforms,
Gold badges pressed against the cloth,
Rushed passed her,
Some carried files,
While others
Typed away on their laptops,
Concentrating and serious.

With a shaky breath,
Rose approached an officer,
Working behind the main counter.

She slapped her cousin's suicide letter,
On top of the wooden desk,
Surprising the man,
Whose beard was grey and much too long.

"I have evidence."

"Evidence for what?" The officer sighed, gesturing to the letter with his chin.

"Brandon Steel is responsible for the rape and suicide of Heaven Leanne."

And just like that,
The officers full attention was on her.
