(A/N: A new chapter of my life has begun and I get to write it now. No one left to worry about. No one I can hurt. So in honor of fresh starts and clean slates, here's a poem called New Beginnings! Enjoy! -Amber)

New Beginnings

Here's to new beginnings
Fresh starts and clean slates
Opening a new book to start the next chapter
I built this bridge a long time ago, now it's time to get over it

But I don't know if it's funny that I would get in an airplane
Just to be over you
You want space? How does separate continents sound?
It's time for new beginnings

Goodbyes are hard, but starting anew is so much fun
Clean, stark lines, only good times can lie ahead
The darkness will finally clear up
And I can find someone that's not you

New beginnings can be scary
But so is living in the dark
And I haven't seen the light in quite some time
So fresh air could do me some good

And it's time to close the book of heartbreak
And move on to friendships that last
Because who needs someone who doesn't want to be with them
So move on, move out, move up. You have new beginnings.

Don't waste them recreating the past.
Be over and done.
Make the freshness last.
Get out there and seize the new beginnings.
