the boy began speaking again, and I suppose I could have simply read his lips, but after the humiliation of falling I needed to get home as soon as possible.. so I went with the best seeming option, using deafness to my advantage
I began pointing at my ears, mouthing the words "i can't hear you", I thought it was a brilliant plan and that he'd surely leave me alone, but I was very wrong
i don't presume he understood what I meant because he proceeded to resume speaking, and it seemed as if he was trying to be louder this time
the fact that he thought that would help left me extremely baffled, how did he not get the point?
I tried again, except i just decided to mouth "I'm deaf" to make things easier
it appeared to take him a moment to realize but as soon as he did i could see him apologizing over and over again, but i couldn't care less, i just wanted to play my piano
