Chapter 6- Caught Off Guard

CHAPTER 6- GETTING CAUGHT OFF GUARD

EDWARD

The whole school seems to be at roar. The girls seem to be excited about something. The boys were also giddy and here I am left to wonder why. I walked up to Marco and Heaven who was standing with Christian, Drake and Jean.

"Hey Jean!" I fist bumped with the other boys while Heaven walked up to my side and fixed some stray hair off my face. Jean smiled at me.

"What's up with the school? Seems like something is making them excited?" I leaned on one of the tree as I waited for them to answer.

"Seems like new students caught up with the school year. I heard from the other girls that he looks like, well, they said he IS very handsome and the girl. The girl, according to the guys who saw her, is a goddess. "

"Really? But I bet he wouldn't reach the standard of my Edward, right?" Heaven smiled at me. "And the girl, I bet she isn't that much. They're just exaggerating."

I'm not your Edward, I thought. I just breathed deeply. That is none of my concern now. I looked around to check if our classmates are arriving. Drake and Jean bid their goodbye as they headed to their classes. Christian is having this class with us now, so he continued talking to Heaven as they entered our classroom first. I stood in silence beside Marco. It's the start of the week but I feel very tired already. I yawned and suddenly Marco frantically nudged me.

"What?" I asked, annoyed.

"Look, he pointed to the left and I turned my head to the direction he was specifying. There were 5 students talking and laughing. I recognized the other 3 but there was one boy and one girl that didn't look familiar to me.

"Who is that they're with? And where's Delavin? It's unusual of her to be absent," I said. Marco stared at me slackjawed.

"I'm not sure with the guy, Edward, but that girl. I think that's Kisses." He and I looked at each other. I scrunched my head and took a second look at the girl. No way was it her. I continued watching as Maymay pointed the Adamson Bldg. to him. I made out the movement of his mouth as a Thank you and he reached out at Maria and gave her a massive hug and he took the girl we thought as Delavin and kissed her forehead. My fist clenched and I felt myself grinding my teeth.

They walked towards our direction and I felt Marco tugging me. "Come on!" I felt myself being dragged to their direction.

"Marco! Hello," Maria said brightly. She suddenly saw me beside him and her expression turned sour.

Marco didn't mind answering Maria as he was busy goggling over the girl standing beside her. "Don't tell me she's who I think she is." Maymay and Yong snickered behind Maria. I can't take my eyes off of her though.

"Kisses, is that really you?" The four looked over us and Marco and I turned around and saw Stephanie walking to us. "Oh I was heading towards Adamson Bldg. My first class is there." She explained to us and looked back.

"Oh in room 1?" asked the mysterious girl. This can't be right. Marco made a massive 'Whoa!' beside me while I was frozen in place.

"So it really is you! I told you, you are beauty," my sister said smiling really wide and winked at me. "Anyway, yes, I'm heading to room 1."

"Really? That's great!" Maria said. Steph looked at her in a curious manner.

"Ah, there is a new student there. His name is Tanner. It would be nice if he could make a new friend in class." The girl, who we were now sure was Delavin said. Now who is this Tanner?
