Chapter 9

After we were done Lucas asked if he could talk to me for a moment, leaving Enoch and Emma looking curious. He looked dead into my eyes and I noticed his eyes were sparkling, had he been crying?

"What's the matter?" I asked him starting to get worried.

"I was wondering if maybe, not forever we can come back, if you'd like to go see mum and dad?"

I stood there unable to say a word. Mum. Dad. It's been ten years since we've seen them.

"Yes of course I want to go see them." Tear of joy filled my eyes along with Lucas'. "It's been so long I miss them dearly."

"Ok great! That's what I was discussing with Miss Peregrine before. Also, I have one last question, it may take you some time to think about it and I respect that. If you'd like we could stay with them, forever. Be a family again, live a somewhat normal life. But that will mean leaving everyone here, unless mum and dad wanna move here but I doubt it. That would mean leaving dad's business and this island doesn't have many business opportunities on it."

I sat there, 'I could live a normal life again. Be with mum and dad again, see all my friends. But I would have to leave Emma and Enoch.'
I couldn't make up my mind. I didn't realize until Lucas hugged me that I was crying.

"Ok" I finally croaked, "I wanna go see mum and dad but I want to talk to Emma and Enoch first ok?" Lucas nodded and I headed off to see my new friends. When Enoch saw my face he immediately pulled me to him asking if I was ok, I just nodded for my response.

"Guys we need to talk." So I told them everything after I was done they both had tears in their eyes.

"Wow um that's awesome," Enoch coughed "so are you going to stay with them? Or are you staying here?"

"That's the thing, I have no idea."

"Well no matter what, we will be fine with your choice. Even if you don't stay." Even when Enoch said that I could hear him saying 'I hope she stays I hope she stays please don't leave me.' over and over in his head. Which made me even more upset.

"When are you leaving?" Emma finally asked.

"Tomorrow morning I think." I replied.

"Bed time everyone! We have a big day tomorrow and I need everyone well rested!" Called Miss P.

"Well I guess I'll see you guys tomorrow." I have them a hug and headed to my room, I'm surprised that my hair hasn't gone white from all the stress I've been through all these years.

I woke up to Lucas, Emma, Enoch, and Miss Peregrine in my room, my brother was shaking me.

"Wake up Katelyn, were going to leave after breakfast so I decided to wake you an hour early so you can't talk some more with Emma and Enoch. I got up and we headed to the lining room to find Clair on the couch crying.

"Are you really leaving Katie?" She sobbed, I went to the small child and pulled her into a hug.

"I won't be gone forever sweetie, I'll just be gone for a week." It broke my heart thinking about telling her I might not be coming back, so I didn't mention it. She smiled and wiped her tears away. We all sat on the couch and talked and of course before we knew it Miss P called us for breakfast, we all ate in silence.

When we were all done everyone got up and went out to the front porch. I said a simple goodbye to everyone but Emma and Enoch. I hugged Emma for several second before pulling away and telling her how much I'll miss her.
When I got to Enoch he hugged me. After what felt like an entire minute I tried to slowly pull away but he wouldn't let me.

"Enoch I have to go."

"But I don't want you to." His words pained me, he had never been loved, besides by annoying miss Olive, and now his only one was leaving him. And probably for good.

"If I do end up staying with my parents, I promise every month I'll come and visit for awhile ok?" He nodded then gave me a kiss on the cheek. I turned to Lucas. "Ok I'm ready."

We got on a small plain and flew to London, where we used to live. It didn't take to long luckily, when we finally landed. We went and stood by a library Lucas kept checking his watch, as if waiting for someone or thing.

"Wait are we waiting for?" As if waiting for me to say that a car pulled up with a woman in the drivers seat.

"Good day young man and lady, Miss Peregrine told me to pick you two up. My name is Miss Hawk, I will be taking you to your house. I will also be picking you up in a week if you decide to go back to the loop, okay?"

We got in the car and in five minutes we were home. I stepped out on our dirt driveway. I looked at the woods I once feared all those years ago. I looked at the small lodge cabin I use to call home. I walked through the lawn I use to play in with Lucas and our parents.

We stood on the porch Lucas gave me a reassuring smile, and he rung the door bell.

A/n yep another cliff hanger! I have been thinking about writing another book my friends and I are planning after I'm done with this one. I'm sorry if this chapter wasn't that great and if there was a few mistakes I wrote it in a rush. Thanks for reading my story I hope you all are enjoying it so far!
