May 3, 2016, 9 p.m.

"It's been a while."

Jimin's voice is clear and reminiscent. He turns to look at me, a small smile on his face as he leans backwards, placing his arms underneath his head as he lounges on the grass patch.

"Mm-hm," I agree, hugging my knees to my chest and staring upwards at the beautiful night sky.

How many times have I wished for this moment to come?

It all feels so dreamlike, as if everything would disappear in the blink of an eye. As if all of this would fade away, and I would wake up in the morning to find myself on my bed, tearing up when I realize that this was all just a dream.

But it isn't.

I turn to look at Park Jimin, the boy who once had orange hair but had to dye it black for the new comeback. The boy who's lost so much weight since I last saw him in Seoul six months ago.

"I forgive you," he suddenly tells me, without peeling his gaze away from the starry canvas of black hanging above us. "Or rather," he continues, a small smile appearing on his face, "I forgave you a long time ago."

I widen my eyes, mouth falling open slightly as his words sink in. I feel like thanking him, but somehow that would seem awkward.

"I-"

"I was at the train station that day," Jimin grins, tilting his head slightly to meet my gaze.

"What?" I frown, confused.

"That day, before you left for Daegu," Jimin reminds me, "Taehyung called me. Said you were leaving Seoul and possibly never coming back."

"You were there?"

Jimin nods, before propping himself up with his elbows and hoisting himself into a sitting position. "I couldn't hail a cab, so I ran there. All the way from the dorm. With Seokjin-hyung screaming behind my back, saying I was crazy." He pauses with a laugh, and I follow along.

"I saw you, checking in with your brother beside you," he continues with his story, a wistful expression on his face. "I ran towards you immediately, but then I stopped, just ten feet away."

"Why?"

"Because I didn't know why I was there," he laughs again, but this time, it comes out as more of a sad chuckle. "I thought, so what if I caught up to you? What was I going to say? What were we going to do?" He turns to look at me again. "I was supposed to be mad at you, so why did I run out in the middle of practice, just because Taehyung told me you were going to leave?"

Silence descends yet again as I digest his words, my eyes somehow watering at the thought of Park Jimin running through the snow, only to back out at the last minute with just a few inches between us, watching me from afar as I left him for good.

We lock eyes for a few moments, neither of us uttering a word.

"Idiot," I finally mumble, beaming at him slightly, before looking away.

He chuckles softly, peeling his eyes away from me as well.

"I've missed you," he tells me, voice a bare whisper.

He doesn't turn to watch my reaction - instead, he bows his head towards the ground, almost embarrassed at what he's saying.

"I'm sorry," he hesitates, before adding on, "I know I acted like a complete asshole back then."

"I understand," I smile, "I'm the one who should be sorry. I would have lost my cool too, if I were you."

"Can we start over?" he whispers, voice slightly trembling, as if afraid that I might not give him the answer that he wants to hear.

I turn towards him, my smile widening at his words. "You know," I start to tell him, "we never did properly introduce ourselves to each other." Extending a hand towards him with the smile still on my face, I continue, "Nice to meet you, I'm Kim Minrae."

Jimin widens his eyes, snapping his head towards me. Then, he grins, eyes forming half moons as he takes my hand, "Nice to meet you too, I'm Park Jimin."

"Let's be friends," I suggest, as if we were kindergarten kids on our first day of school.

Jimin cocks his head, contemplating the idea.

"How about something a little more than that?"
