so like this is a tie-in to the Memes chapter but like. i've noticed how a lot of 'tumblr culture' or whatever you wanna call it is just like. casual jokes about existential dispair. (are we dissociating? is it a coping mechanism? who knows. not me. [i might know.] [it's probably a coping mechanism.] [most of us are mentally ill.] [we gotta have something.])
anyway that sort of humor is very much Not A Thing outside the internet (or heck, even outside of tumblr really) so can you imagine like all the muggleborns making these jokes (don't even start on how nobody makes these jokes outside of tumblr my friends and i do this in real life because that existential dread is real) to each other and all of a sudden
"do you know why you're here"
"no. we don't need group therapy, ma'am"
"you literally just said you want to die like ten minutes ago"
