It was dark but not late. The little bit of cloud-cover gave the moonlight an eerie cast. He could see the creature lumbering down the street. He didn't get a good look at it but it was big and broad and built sort of box-like. He thought of a Frankenstein when he saw it. He matched the creatures pace as it slowly made its way. He looked in the direction the creature was going and saw it was his house. The lights were still on and he could see movement through the big bay window that looked into the living room.

Why was he walking beside this creature and what was it doing? It stopped next to an old-fashioned street lamp. Like the light-post in Lantern Wastes in Narnia.(He could hardly say "It stopped under..."because the creature was nearly as tall as the lamp.) Even with the light, he couldn't see its features clearly. Maybe that was a good thing. The creature stood and stared at his house for a few minutes then suddenly (and quickly) swung his arm and broke the lamp, extinguishing the light. As the world went dark – he woke.
