Walls Up

Nina's Pov

   James loosens his grip on Luke not soon after he is sprinting away towards the school.

"What the fuck was that Alina!" James yells turning towards me. I scowl at him knowing he can't actually think I'm that stupid. "I know. I'm sorry." He quickly responded to my facial expression.

"I'm a little irritated right now James. I um, I got to go." I say rolling my eyes then walking towards the building. Quickly he catches my arm in his grip.

"Where are you going?" He questions. Swiftly I snatch myself from his grip and furrow my brows.

"Don't worry about where I'm going stop breathing my every breath. I'm a big girl." I slightly raise my voice and continue walking.

"What? Are you saying I smother you?" He interrogates walking beside me. His voice getting angry yet he finds a chuckle in him.

"No, but you are right now James damn." I say speeding up

"I just wanted to know where you were going it's not like I'm stalking." He scoffs then mumbles,"Like your ex."

"Fuck you man! His fucking mom just died!" I screamed at him stopping in my tracks.

"Fuck me?! Too late for that! Why are you standing up for him anyways? He put me in the hospital 2weeks ago!"he yelled back getting in my face.

"Ight." I scoff walking away from him leaving him standing there alone.

James' Pov

    I stand there in shock as I realize what I just did. I was mad as hell but I took it too far for her. I didn't even think about it before I said that. I watch as she walks away. I start running to her quickly catching up. Picking her up by the waist she starts cursing, kicking and crying. I put her down and get on my knees. Soon as I put her down she turns towards me and I grab onto her waist while on my knees. She stands their confused as I hug her waist. Her hand finds my head and her fingers through my curly natural hair.
     Getting up off my knees I hug her tightly as I press my forehead against hers. She breaks out of my embrace and places a soft kiss on my chin. A slow tear drops from her face onto my shoe before she turns and continues towards the school.

Nina's Pov

     After the bell dismisses the students to go home I find myself in the parking lot walking towards my car. Quickly making my way to the bright car I hop in and sit in the drivers seat. Unlocking my phone I check my messages.

From: James😍🤓
Nina, I'm sorry okay. I am really.

From: Cynthia
Hey I'll be home tomorrow morning I have a night shift there's a lot going on in the hospital for some reason. Be careful, love you!

   I sort of relief met my stomach as I read sissies text. I don't want her to question or bother me. Since I'm not working I drive straight home. As I turn down onto my block I see a familiar face. His face lights up when I pull into the driveway. Getting out my car and stepping into the grassy lawn I walk towards him. I lay my hand on my own shoulder and stop in front of him.

"Hey, Luke." I nervously speak looking at my feet.

"I'm sorry for what I did to you. I'm sorry for everything." He quickly said placing his hand over the hand on my shoulder. I shiver finds its way up my spine as his hand touches me.

"It's whatever, Luke." I accept looking up at his pale face, staring at his freckles I look back down at my feet.

"I was stupid and aggressive for no reason. I'm not a bad guy I just make bad decisions." He said taking his hand off of me. " I can't believe she's gone."he breaks down dropping to his knees.

"Luke, I understand it's hard but you gotta get up. Come in the house atleast." I said pulling him up by his arm hoping none of my neighbors saw him. Getting up we start towards the door. As we reach it I quickly unlock it and let him pass me going in. Turning right into the kitchen I pull out a chair and he plops down into it.

"Alina, I should have never took you from granted." He said, his head falling into his hands. Ignoring him he stands up and hugs me. Feeling his sudden embrace my guard stays up stronger than ever. As we stand there I here a car screech out side and seconds later rapid knocks. Before we can move James walks in.

"Alina! Where are y-" stopping his sentence he sees us and everything stands still.

James' Pov

       As I walk into the house searching for Alina. I wanted her to forgive me. Looking to my left I see the hall and in front of me is the living room. Before I go down the hall I look right into the kitchen and I see Alina standing there with Luke's arms around her. I hesitate before rage starts to fill me.

" Get the fuck off her ghe!" I yell walking towards them. Quickly he released her and puts his arms up in a surrender.
