Once lunch had been whipped up and eaten, Meredith asked everyone to meet her in the laboratory in their gym clothes. Chloe quickly went back to her room and changed before racing back to the lab. Her gym clothes consisted of a pair of grey shorts  and grey tank top. Entering the lab she noticed that the guy’s gym clothes were about the same except with grey sweat pants.

Getting right to work Meredith had them split off with different nurses. Chloe followed her nurse over to the treadmills. Her nurse barely said a word as she wired Chloe up for the monitors. Once that was done she instructed Chloe to start jogging at a comfortable pace.

Chloe was use to going to the gym so she set the machine to the speed she normally jogged at and just started. Every once in a while the nurse would ask her to speed up or slow down but aside from that Chloe mostly stayed at a constant pace.

Meredith was everywhere it seemed. She rotated between the three participants checking on their readings and doing some of her own. Chloe got the feeling that most of Meredith’s readings were from her ability. It had to be handy for the a doctor to be the way she was.

After a while Meredith gave the signal to stop and she lead everyone back to the hall way and told them to go into certain rooms. Inside they were to do some cognitive tests to assess our mental capabilities.

Chloe found these tests to be fairly simple but then again she had always been fairly good at memorizing facts and at problem solving. Even the nurse seemed impressed with the results.

Once that tests were done they were given free time until supper. Deciding that she just felt like having a shower, Chloe made her way back to her room. Stripping down she jumped in the shower, the warm water felt amazing against her skin.

Stepping out of the shower she grabbed a pair of pajama pants and a tank top and decided to go watch some TV, hoping that Kevin wasn’t going to be there again.

Entering the lounge she saw that the only person there was Michael and he was watching CSI: New York. Deciding that she didn’t mind watching that either she walked over to the second couch and sat down.

“How’s it going Sergeant?”  She asked.

Michael smiled at her. “Please it’s Michael while I’m off duty.” He said cheerfully.

“Sure thing Michael.” Chloe said smiling back. As silence started to settle in between them Chloe thought of a question that had been bugging her. “Hey Michael, how did you get chosen for this project?”

Michael’s smile faded a little bit. “Well we were all called in one day after training and told that they were going to have to take blood samples to get our DNA. Identification purposes they claimed. You know in case something happened while we were overseas and all they found was a leg or something. About a month later I was called into my captains office and told about this mutation and how I was being given the opportunity to experience my full potential. I couldn’t really say no, I mean, I’ve been trained to do whatever my commanding officer asked of me. So I asked when I was to leave and went to start packing. I’m a little nervous about everything though.”

Chloe nodded. “Sounds similar to what happened to me.” She said before explaining out how her boss had informed her about the project. Once she was done they sat in silence again until supper was served.
