Turtlepaw licked Dragonpaw's muzzle until he awoke. Once she'd seen his eyes cracked open, she whispered in his ear. "Meet me at the gathering tomorrow" and raced away.
"Away" must've been to the river, because that's where Turtlepaw's paws took her. She sighed and sat down at the shore, thinking about the day.
Turtlepaw blinked groggily and licked her lips. The sound of rushing water sounded near her, and she groaned. Turtlepaw stretched and began to walk home.
Halfway to the great banyan tree, she heard something. Whirling around, Turtlepaw got an eyeful of a snarling red creature with foam dripping from it's muzzle. A rank scent floated off of it's fur, and it's black eyes gleamed.
A Fox!
