"Queens?"

Evie shakes her head. "Go fish."

He groans, picking up a card from the deck.

"Sixes?" She asks. Cade pouts, tossing over two. She makes a book, placing all four sixes on the table. "How 'bout an ace?"

"Goddamn!" He tosses over his three aces.

Evie chuckles evilly, finishing another stack.

Cade gives up, tossing his hand on the table. "I forfeit."

"Aw... so soon?" She asks.

"You have seven out of thirteen sets." He points out.

Oh. Yeah.

"This game is boring." He announces. "Truth or dare?"

Evie narrows her eyes at him, gathering up all of the cards. "How old are you?"

"Too old for you." He grins. "We'll make it a drinking game. Every truth or dare you refuse to do - take a shot."

Now, she had been drunk around him, and him drunk around her, but they had yet to actually drink together.

"I'll take that up." She said. "Go get the Smirnoff."

That he did. He took a bottle of vodka from one of the cabinets and a shot glass from off the counter, placing it on the kitchen table. Evie finished up shuffling the cards and putting them back in the box.

"Crazy how we just have no idea what's going on in the world right now." She said. "No electronics. Not even a newspaper." Her phone had died several hours earlier.

He laughs. "I like it. It's refreshing. Though, I'm fucking sick and tired of how cold it is."

Evie pulled the blanket she had tighter around her shoulders. "Agreed."

The landlord downstairs probably had some news, but he didn't care enough to go get it. Blizzard. No power. Eh. It happens. Though, it had finally stopped snowing. The temperature outside had also started to creep up.

"Truth or dare?" He asked.

"Dare." She said, feeling bold.

He patted his knee. "Come put that sweet ass of yours in my lap."

She rolled her eyes, taking the bottle. Evie took a drink straight off the top. "Nope." She said, putting the bottle back down. "I have questions and if I do that I'm not going to get anywhere with them."

"Damn. You saw right through me. You go."

"Truth or dare?" She asks, putting her elbows on the table.

"Truth." He replied.

She raised an eyebrow at him. "Lame. I have a question, though. What are we? What is this strange relationship we have?"

He mulled it over. "Friends with benefits who don't have sex? And... live together. We seem to make it work. I dunno. I don't plan on screwing anyone else."

She considered his response. "I can live with that." Evie sipped on a coke. "Truth."

"Hmm..." He leaned back in his chair. "Am I the first man to see you naked? Parents and siblings don't count."

She bit her lip. "Sorta."

He bit back a wicked grin.

"I mean, my ex had seen everything from the waist up." She added. I think. "Truth or dare?"

He shrugged. It didn't sting. "Dare." He replied, wondering what she could possibly cook up.

She jerked her chin to the Smirnoff. "Two shots."
