Sipping your drink, you looked up at Yurio and your eyes connected. You both blushed and looked away. It was silent for at least a minute. Then you thought of something to break that silence, but couldn't say it. You wanted so badly to ask him if he liked anyone, but you didn't have the courage. You were grateful when he spoke.

'so you come from (your country) right? What is it like there?'

'Oh, um, it's good.'

'What school like? It's probably quite different from school here.'

'terrible, of course.' you laughed, and he laughed with you. You couldn't help but blush at the adorable noise.

'I like you. A-as friends of course!' he blushed again.

'I like you too.' you could feel your face burn as you said it.

Yurio looked outside.

'its still snowing tonnes.' he said, sighing.

'yeah but that's ok. You can leave if you want to, but just stay safe.'

'No, that's ok. We can wait it out.'

You looked back at him from the window, and found he was staring at you.

'I-s everything ok?' you said, stuttering, a little embarrassed.

'What?'

'Its just, you were staring at me, and...' you trailed off, because not only was he staring at you, he was also smiling, incredibly cutely. He laughed, and said,

'remember the caption of that Instagram picture?'

You remembered, of course you did. How could you forget, he called you cute!

'Y-yeah, you called me cute. Did you mean that?'

'Maybe.' He shrugged, and stared out of the window again. You sighed, and evidently Yurio heard, because he turned his head to look at you.

'Not the answer you wanted?' he smirked at you. He kicked you lightly, under the table.

'Hey!' you laughed, and kicked him back.

'Owww!' he sulked, pulling a face.

'Well, I think you're cute, Yurio.' you didn't mean to say it out loud, but you had, and Yurio was staring at you, a mixture of shock and confusion on his face.

'Not the answer you wanted?' you laughed.

'Wha- you really think I'm cute?'

'Maybe.' you loved teasing him, it was just so funny, and also gave you an excuse to flirt.

He kicked you again, a bit harder, and you kicked him back. You couldn't help staring at this adorable boy. Less than a week ago, you had not had any interest in him apart from his skating, but now that had all changed.

'The snow's cleared up a bit.' he noticed, but sounded a bit sad. Did he want to stay with you longer? You couldn't help hoping that was the case.

'yeah, we should be able to go soon.'

'Is it weird if I say I don't really want to?'

There was a silence as you comprehended what he had just said. He wanted to stay.

'No! Its not weird. B-but it's quite late. Your family would probably be worried if you stay too late.' you managed to blurt out.

'You're right. But I like being with you.'

Why was he suddenly being so upfront? Your face was bright red, and you couldn't look him in the eye.

'What?' you managed to blurt out.

It was now or never. You decided you would ask him.

'Yurio, do you like me!?'

He stared at you for what felt like an eternity. He stood up, grabbed your arm, and murmured,

'Come on. The snow's gone.'

He dragged you along, and didn't look at you, until halfway down the street, you jerked your arm away.

'You didn't answer my question.'

'I don't want to. You can't force me.'

He crossed his arms and smirked.

'Oh my god.' you sighed and kept walking. You crossed the road, leaving him on the other side until it was clear, which would be at least a few minutes. You felt angry, but you weren't sure why. Was it because he didn't answer you?

'Hey! What the hell?' he shouted across the road.

'Wait up! (Y/n)!'

You turned around and laughed at the boy on the other side, shouting and waving his arms. The road cleared and he ran across.

'Not funny!' he complained, like a little kid. You burst out laughing.

'Yurio, you really are cute.'

Yurio grumbled And stared at you, faking anger.

'we should keep walking.' you said, still giggling. Yurio followed, closely by your side.

'(y/n)?'

'yeah?' you answered, but he just sighed. After a few seconds, you felt his hand grab yours.

'Yur-' you started, but he cut you off.

'does that answer your question?'

You couldn't speak, only nod, because almost all your focus had gone to the feeling of his hand in yours. You wanted to be closer to him. You wanted to kiss him, but you didn't have the guts to do it.

You arrived at the hotel, and Yurio sighed.

'Can I walk you to your room? I want to be with you a bit longer...'

There was a long pause before you stuttered a quiet 'sure' and went to collect your key. You still couldn't accept all this, it felt like a dream.

You entered the elevator, and there was an awkward silence. You walked down the corridor to your room, Yurio just a few steps behind you.

You got to your door, disappointed that you couldn't stay with him longer.

'This is my room, so bye, see you soon?'

You turned to face Yurio, who was staring at the ground, but uttered a quiet;

'Yeah.'

'Are you okay?'

'Its just...' Yurio looked up to face you. He was blushing profusely, and suddenly leaned in close. He grabbed your arm, and pulled you even closer. Your lips connected, and you melted immediately into his arms.

He tasted of hot chocolate and something you couldn't recognise, but felt familiar. His body was warm, and one of his hands was in your hair and one softly on your waist. You wanted to stay like this forever, in his arms, your lips on his. You felt more at home than you ever did in your own house. You could feel his heart beating softly in time with yours, (don't you dare comment what ik you're gonna comment) and you leaned in even closer. Twenty seconds felt like an eternity in this small world of your own with just you and him.

But nothing lasted forever, and it was all over too quickly.

'I just wish I had done that sooner. Goodnight, solnyshko.'

You stood there, in shock and out of breath, and couldn't do anything but just watch this beautiful boy walk away.

MERRY Muf*cking Christmas and also Victor's birthday!
Beautiful chapter that I'm actually so proud of because I probably won't be updating in the next couple of days. Luv chya!
(Also solnyshko is a Russian word for kitten and it's a common Russian pet name I thought it was very fitting)
