Never die, I live eternal, who shall I fear?

[7:45 PM]

AS SOON AS Lena gets into her apartment, she peels her coat off, drops the grocery bags down and flop on the sofa, letting out a big sigh. Finally Friday. It was always the best day of the week, in her opinion.

She stares blankly at the white ceiling thinking about the events that unfolded today. Woke up, ate breakfast, fell down the stairs, busted her lip.. all the nice usual stuff. Plus the part where she met Tupac not even an hour ago.

What was he doing there? Why did he appear worked up? Why did he look so.. drained? Lena had a load of unanswered questions, she wish she stayed long enough to ask them. Now, she was starting to feel stupid that she dismissed a once in a lifetime chance.

Not all the way stupid, she couldn't cancel on Anthony anymore. He would get pissed himself, so pissed, ignoring Lena for days at a time. So it was good that she stood Tupac up and not her actual man.

Besides that mess, she had Paige to worry about. Paige had a twisted background, she wished that she hadn't have to have the occupation that she did. As Lena gets up to briefly look through Paige's stuff, it's not on the table like she had figured.

She groans, knowing that she had to go back to her truck. She snatches her keys off of the kitchen counter and leaves the condo, exposing herself to the light drizzle outside. As soon as she gets the door open, she sees that it's not resting on the passenger seat, however, her handbag was.

Lena fully gets into the truck when the rain drops begin to drop a little faster and harder, closing the door with a slam. Expectantly, her phone rings and she quickly gets it out of her purse, lifting the antenna up, "Hello?"

"Lena," Anthony's voice came, irritable. "Damn, I called you twice - where you at?"

"I'm at home," Lena responded, sticking the car key into the ignition. "I gotta do my hair and still pick an outfit. I also went grocery shopping after I left work, I thought I might as well do it while I was picking up lip balm."

"Lip balm?" he says. "That's more important than getting here?"

Lena quickly defends herself, "Don't even. If I hadn't, you'd be kissing some dry, busted lips. I fell down the stairs this morning-"

"Damn, B, all them stairs? All twenty? Yo' clumsy ass gon' end up killing yourself."

"The point is," Lena ignores his laughter. "That I have to go back to work. I forgot Paige's paperwork."

".....Okay. And you know what, after that how 'bout you make a list of everything you gotta do the rest of the year. Don't forget to put me at the end, as you always do," Anthony says rudely.

"Ant, don't be mad. I'm sorry that I forgot-"

"You forget everything, it ain't new."

Lena sighs, "I don't see why you're acting like this. It'll be quick. I swear, it'll be quick. Anthony?"

He had hung up on Lena, something he does when she makes him upset. Lena chose to not let it get to her as she drove because just like her being forgetful wasn't new, his bipolar ways weren't either.
