Elyza Lex.

Alicia laid down beside me and Strand is laying next to a tree in front of me.

I'm on watch.

I wonder how far away we are from the rest of our group? We've been running for at least two hours.

Only a few deceased have been around.

I know Alicia is worried but I'm not really sure how to comfort her.

I lay down behind her and wrap my left arm around her and keep my right arm on the ground a couple of inches away from her head with a knife ready, just in case I need to use it.

"I can keep watch." Strand says throwing a glance in my direction

I nod and lay my head on Alicia hair.

After a few minutes Alicia turns on her side until she's facing me.

She's like a whole other level of peaceful.

I run my hands through her hair.

I wonder what she was like before the apocalypse?

Was she the type of girl who wore a lot of makeup and went shopping a lot and was kinda stuck up? Doubtful.

Was she the really quite shy type that always got great grades and was obsessed with her future and never wore makeup and spent tons of time with her family? Maybe.

Was she somewhere in between?

The sun started shining through the trees and onto Alicia's eyelids.

Before I could block the light it woke her up.

"You're so close." She gently laughs.

"I wanted to make sure you were safe from close up."

She laughs again.

"Where's Strand?" She asks looking around.

"Oh he said he had to use the bathroom and wanted to see if there was a nearby water source or something like that."

She nods and lays her head on me.
