"Time for you to go Remi!" Were the first words Remi heard when she pushed open the glass doors of her apartment building.
Remi continued on as if he didn't say anything, and when he stood in her way, blocking elevator, she pushed him out of the way, not caring if he called the cops. "Fuck off old man." Was all she said as she stepped into the elevator.
But it wasn't what she said that made Gustavo stop in his tracks, it was the way that she said it and the look on her face as she turned around. It was one of complete and utter tiredness. She looked dead to the world, her usual beautiful and lively face looking worn out and stressed. And it was the way that she hugged her arms tightly around herself as if to keep herself together that made him nod empathetically when she promised to be out by six in the morning.
She didn't make it more than one step into her apartment before she collapsed onto the floor, the door clicking closed behind her, both physically and mentally exhausted from the day.
Remi honestly wasn't upset at that moment. It wasn't the fact that Cole's friends were probably filling him in on every little detail of her life -she really couldn't be upset about that because she knew every little detail of his life. It wasn't that Cole would now either pity her or want something from her like every other person in the U.S. No, Remi wasn't upset, not at all. She was tired.
Every single emotion seemed to be wiped from her body. She couldn't find it in herself to feel anything about the day, she didn't want to feel anything. It hurt too much.
So she just sat there with her back against the door, and lived. And she sat there living for the rest of the night.

After being bombarded by Liz, they dragged Cole inside and told him everything about The Remi Lux.
Remi Lux, the lead singer of the famous band Chasing Pavements, took America by surprise when she and her band rose to the top of the charts overnight and within a month they were the most listened to band in America. But it wasn't just their music that made them so famous, it was Remi herself. It was her charm, her beauty, her wit, and mostly her mysteriousness.
No one seemed to have any record of Remi Lux before she became famous. She literally seemed to appear out of nowhere with no record of her on the internet and America fed off of that, everybody trying to crack the infamous Remi Lux. And Remi just sat back and watched, amused by all of the attention she was getting.
She didn't seem to mind the random paparazzi flocking outside of the hotel she stayed in, she didn't even mind when the paparazzi blatantly tried to get some dirt on her by purposefully being rude to her and get her mad enough to do something she would regret. No, she calmly shut them down with wit and flair, making her fans go crazy. She didn't mind the attention at all, but her band did.
Having made the band with her closest friends, they expected to share all the fun and the fame but her band wasn't as patient as Remi. At first it was fun and they did enjoy the fame, but then they started getting attacked everyday by paparazzi wanting to know all about Remi. They couldn't go anywhere without being ambushed. And it wasn't just that, they were jealous of Remi for getting all of the attention when they put just as much effort -and more- into the band's success than she did. They slaved over making new music while Remi just sat there and looked pretty.
And then it all became too much when the press found out about the tension in the band. Everybody wanted to find out why Chasing Pavements' music was going downhill and why they weren't the happy-go-lucky band that they were before.
