"Andy!" I squealed, jumping into the unsuspecting arms of the wolf. He caught me, a grin on his perfect face.
"Claire, how's it going?" He let me down and I gave him a sarcastic smile.
"Just absolutely amazing, dear." I said, sarcasm dripping off every word.
"Oh?" Andy asked, a bemused look gracing his features.
"Oh yes, I mean my ex-boyfriend and my honorary sister are getting married! How much better could life be, my friend?" I said, sitting down on one of the tables, ignoring the glare I got from one of Luke's pack members.
"Yikes, so I'm guessing you didn't come to see my beautiful face for no reason then?" Andy asked, replacing the she-wolf who had left the booth.
"Sadly not, but it's been forever and I can't stand to be at the institute right now, so I'm afraid I had to go with my," I stopped, pretending to count my fingers, "fourth choice?" I said, faking confusion. I laughed at the hurt look on my wolf friends face, assuring him I was only joking.
I sat down next to him, playing with his fingers.
"How're you holding up?" He mumbled, not wanting the rest of his pack to hear. I let out a weak laugh, blinking away tears.
"Horribly." I admitted.
"It'll get better. I promise." He whispered, wrapping an arm around me as a comfortable silence encased us.

I walked through the institute, trying to ignore everyone bustling about in preparation for the wedding. Finding Jace, Clary, and Magnus was proving to be more difficult than I expected and I was surprised. The institute was a small place, and there isn't many places to hide here.
"Claire!" I heard Jace call from behind me, making me turn around.
"What do you want Jace?" I asked, a frown on my face.
"I-we need you to come with us to find Ragnor Fell."
"Who?" I questioned, scrunching my face up at the odd name.
"The high warlock of London." I recognized the title, shrugging my shoulders before agreeing.
"Great, you have ten minutes to get ready and meet us by the portals." Jace said before rushing away. I grumbled, stalking my way back to my room to change before rushing to the portals. All three of them were standing there, waiting on me.
"Let's get this over with." I said, walking up to the trio. Magnus made a noise of agreement before opening a portal, motioning for us shadowhunters to go before following us in.
We arrived in a field, an empty field to be precise.
"Um-"
"Ragnor's house is just across these fields." Magnus sighed.
"Let's make this quick," I muttered, loud enough for my companions to hear clearly, "let's just snatch him and run."
Magnus chuckled before ignoring me and turning to the blonde and redhead.
"So, brother and sister huh?"
"I don't want to talk about it." Jace said annoyed, continuing to walk through the field. As the information sunk in I stopped, my loud and late gasp echoing.
"Wait, what!" I practically screamed, wide eyed and mouth slightly hanging open. Since when were they siblings? They both looked anywhere but at each other and at me, who was staring at them as if they had killed a puppy.
"Uh, yeah." Jace said, taking a few steps closer before turning to Magnus.
"No worries, we'll be right over there." Magnus assured him, taking Clarissa and continuing on. I turned back to Jace, frowning slightly.
"Why wouldn't you tell me this, Jace?" I asked, tilting my head down slightly so he couldn't see just how hurt I was. Jace and I were always extremely close, we knew everything about each other. I always told him important things in my life and he had always done the same, so why was it any different now?
"I'm sorry, it's just that I-I needed time to process it myself. I was going to tell you, just not until I was ready," Jace said, his voice getting softer, "Claire, you're my best friend. Okay? I will always tell you things like this, but on my own time. Not someone else's." I nodded, sniffling and wiping away the stray tear that had ran down my cheek.
"Okay, I'm sorry. It's just with all this stuff going on lately, we haven't been that close. Not like before anyways." I said, accepting the hug he gave me.
