I woke up to the chirping of birds, I rolled over towards the other side of the bed to find it empty. My heart sunk when I found a note in Thorin's place.

My Amrâlimê, Líreth,

Forgive me for doing this, but I must leave. I must give my people a new start in the Blue Mountains. They deserve a much better life than being nomads. But you deserve much more than this, so please do not worry, we shall meet again soon. I will return for you, I swear it on my life. When the time's right, I shall return, to you, my lovely wife.

With all my love,

Thorin

So he left after all. Nemirel, Nanor, Húron, Oreth, and Mîlel all spent time with me when I wasn't working. It was rather lonely and quiet without the dwarves around the village. A week or more went by and I felt weird, which was unusual since elves do not get sick. It wasn't until I spoke to Nemirel that I understood what was happening. I knew Nanor wouldn't like it, especially when he doesn't know that Thorin and I got married in secrecy.

"I think I'm pregnant, Nemirel." I confessed.

She gasped. "Do you mean it?"

I nodded. "From your explanation it's now evident what's happening to me. But please don't tell Nanor, I have no idea what to tell him."

"Tell me what, gwathel?" I cringed at the familiar tone.

I turned to see Oreth and Mîlel standing at his sides. No doubt he left Húron in charge of his shop while he's gone. He then advised the children to go play in the spare room, which was now Mîlel's room.

I gulped as he sat beside Nemirel and across from me. Well here goes nothing. "Tôr, before you say anything you must know I love Thorin deeply."

"Líreth, what did you do?" Nanor asked as he narrowed his eyes.

I placed my hands over my stomach. "Nanor, I'm pregnant."

"What?! Impossible, you're not even married to that anfang!" He snapped.

"His name is Thorin-" However before I could say that we were married, Nanor cut me off.

"I can't believe you would be the type of person to just throw away all our customs and traditions for him!" He continued. "Then again I'm beginning to realize the real you."

"Nanor!" I called after him as he abruptly stood up.

"I don't want to hear your petty excuses!" Nanor yelled. "Nemirel, Oreth! Let's go we're leaving!"

Oreth then appeared in the living room with Mîlel, trailing behind him. They were both confused to see Nanor's pissed off face.

"Why ada?" Oreth asked.

"Because we are." Nanor retorted as he stormed towards my door.

"Nanor, please don't do this." I begged.

However Nanor ignored me as he stormed out. Nemirel gave me a sympathetic smile, while Oreth gave me a quick hug before they left.

"What was that about?" Mîlel asked, confused.

"Gather all your things." I ordered.

"Why?"

"We're leaving, tonight. It's complicated, but when you're older I'll explain it to you."

If Nanor wanted to be that way then fine, he doesn't want me around anyways. I'll just have to start over once again, only this time it'll just be Mîlel and me.

That night arrived, and as soon as everyone was in their homes, Mîlel and I grabbed our things and took off on Lagorel. We continued to ride until dawn, where we arrived at a small village next to the shore. We travelled around, not staying in one place. As the months went by, I grew worried for my child. I wished the best for him or her, but there was only so much I could him or her provide with.

Time went by and I was ready to deliver the child at any moment, which made me anxious. Mîlel and I were currently traveling near the Misty Mountains. I was in so much pain, that I could no longer stand.

"Líreth!" Mîlel cried. "Please don't leave me!"

The pain was too much for me that I passed out, seeing nothing but darkness.
