~Gilornel's P.O.V.~
We watched as the elves, dwarves, and men alike fought against the orcs. Ada told us to stand down, which I couldn't believe. Nana trained and taught us to never back down.

"I won't tolerate this!" Kili protested. "We should be out there fighting."

"I say we talk to ada." I suggested.

"No!" Balin exclaimed. "Remember what happened to your mother? What if he's harsh with you as well?"

"That's a bargain we're willing to take, Balin." Thingol said. "We need to help him before this sickness destroys him...we won't lose him."

"We refuse to let it happen, Balin." I added.

With that Thingol and I went in search of our ada. We found him in the throne room with Dwalin. Thingol and I hid behind pillars at the entrance.

"Do not speak to me as if I were some lowly dwarf lord. As is if I were still Thorin... Oakenshield. I am your King!" Ada yelled.

"You were always my King. You used to know that once. You cannot see what you have become." Dwalin replied.

"Go. Get out, before I kill you." Thorin said, surprising us.

Just as Dwalin was about to leave, we called him over in hushed whispers. "What are you doing?"

"Going to try to convince our ada to leave behind this sickness." I explained.

"It's no use." Dwalin said, trying not to cry. "Thorin's still not himself."

"We will still try." Thingol chimed in. "We aren't giving up, Dwalin."

Dwalin wore a small smile. "You both have good hearts, and it's much appreciated. Good luck, to the both of you."

Dwalin then walked out as we walked further into the throne room towards our ada. His fists were clenched, and his back was turned against us.

"Ada?" I called out.

He turned around with an irritated look on his face. "What?"

"Ada, this isn't you." I began. "You're so much more than this."

"Not this again." Thorin muttered.

"Ada, we do this because we care, we love you." Thingol informed him. "Please, fight it, we know you have it in you."

"Please ada, this isn't you. The real Thorin Oakenshield I know and have come to learn never goes back on his word." I reminded him. "He would've never spoke the way he did to our nana, because he loved her more than anything...more than the gold and-"

"The gems that lie in this mountain." Thorin finished.

For a mere second, I thought I saw him return to his old self. He took one look at us before fleeing into another chamber. My shoulders slumped. "That was our last chance."

Thingol placed a hand on my shoulder. "Let's go back to the others, gwathel."

We returned to the others, where we told them what happened. I grew restless, waiting for ada. I then stood up and made my way towards the entrance. "I've had enough of this! I will not hide here like a coward."
