"Thranduil. Na vedui!" I greeted. "It's been a while, mellon."

He smiled upon me. "Líreth! It's been so long since I've last seen you."

He then made his way down from his throne and embraced me, as soon as we pulled away, I spoke. "How have you been?"

He slumped his shoulders. "Can't say I've been well overall."

"What happened?" I asked.

"Well, after we settled here in this forest...it wasn't long until we went to war against Sauron." Thranduil explained. "And in that war, my ada passed away. As soon as we returned from the war, I became king, got married, and had a son..."

"Legolas, was it?" I chimed in. "We met him out in the forest. He along with Tauriel and several other elves helped us kill the spiders."

He nodded. "That's his name alright."

"But where's your wife?" Thingol inquired.

Thranduil slumped his shoulders. "She perished at the hands of orcs when Legolas was merely a little elfling."

"No, that's awful!" I gasped. "I'm terribly sorry, mellon. Forgive us, we didn't know."

He waved it off. "It's not your fault, none of you knew. And may I ask who these three are?"

"This is my son, Thingol, my daughter, Gilornel, and my daughter-in-law, Kyra." I introduced them. "Thingol, Gilornel, Kyra, this is Thranduil, one of my best friends from my childhood days during in the Years of the Trees."

They all greeted Thranduil, who seemed seemed rather intrigued. "Pleasure to meet you all. I didn't know you got married."

"It all kinda happened, and I never thought it would happen." I replied. "I must say this place reminds me of..."

Before I could finish, Thranduil finished my sentence for me. "Menegroth? Yes, my ada created the Woodland Realm to look like Menegroth in honor of the kingdom of Doriath and of your family."

My smile widened. "Well he did a wonderful job. It reminds me of home, our fallen kingdom."

Before he could say anything else, a guard carrying Thorin approached us. My eyes widened upon seeing him. He was also surprised to see us as well.

"Amrâlimê!" He exclaimed.

He tried to reach out towards Thingol, Gilornel, Kyra, and me but failed as the guard held him back.

"Let them go!" Thorin growled.

Thranduil seemed amused by Thorin's outburst. "My, my. What's this? Thorin Oakenshield, actually caring about someone else that isn't his gold or treasure?"

Thorin gritted his teeth. "Líreth is my wife, and Thingol and Gilornel are my children."

Thranduil smirk faded at his words. He then turned towards me, and I could tell that he spotted the braid that Thorin made years ago.

"Of course. Why didn't I notice the braid in your hair..." Thranduil said. "But I would've never thought...especially you of of all people. Why him?"
