Chapter 12: Awaken

*Frisk's POV*

I carried Chara back to the Inn, deciding that it would be best for both of us to just get some rest. As I walked, he seemed to be getting heavier. But there was a chance that I was simply weaker now that half of my soul was gone. I looked down at him and he seemed.. happier than before. I smirked and went back to our room and fell asleep next to him.

When I woke up, the version of him that was laying next to me looked exactly like the one from the dream. I started feeling strange, as if I was a embarrassed to be caught like this.

"Hey, I see that you just couldn't resist getting into bed with me, huh? I mean if you waited till I was awake then you could of just asked." Chara was looking at me with a mischievous look and all I could feel was my face getting redder by the second. 

"I...It's not like that. I swear that I was just tired that's all." I couldn't hide how flustered I was so my only course of action was to hide under the covers.  

*Chara's POV* 

I just sat there and laughed at how Frisk was acting all of the sudden. I pulled off the covers and said,

"Come on, we don't have any time to waste, so lets get going and actually get some work done. I would love to stay in bed but I want to do stuff now. " I was only saying this so I could get used to being in this body again, but also for some reason I couldn't yet tell. I felt as if I actually wanted to live a life on the surface now. I quickly put this put of my mind and went outside. 

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something that looked like a flower, but wasn't too worried about it. I started walking again and Frisk whispered to me,

"I think it's time we go to fight Papyrus, I kinda want to get out of Snowdin now. It seems as if something bad might happen if we stay any longer." I understood completely, and so we began to walk to the exit of the village. As if on cue, we saw Papyrus waiting for us, and I signaled for Frisk to take control of the fight.

*Frisk's POV*

I knew how to dodge all of the attacks and what to say to him, so the fight didn't last that long. But I was distracted at times since it seemed like Chara was going to pass out several times during it. I kept thinking, "I guess that some things don't change with him, but that's good cause then he's still the same person that I love." Suddenly Papyrus said,

"HUMAN, I THE GREAT PAPYRUS, SENSE THAT SOMETHING IS ON YOUR MIND!" He then leaned closer and whispered, "It seems as if you like that other human, so just be yourself, and don't worry about our date. I think it's best you settle with second with best, as our love is match for your love for him." I started to blush but nodded then hugged him. 

"Thanks Papy, I promise I will do what you said. Now be safe, I'll try to get us all free." I signalled for Chara to come on, and walked off.

*Chara's POV*

I was getting tired from the fight, but I knew that everything would be ok. I was a bit worried when I saw them just talking to each other, but figured it would be best to just let it happen. Though pretty soon I saw Frisk motion for us to go, and once we were out of sight I asked, "What were you two talking about?" Frisk just smiled at me and replied cheerfully,

"Nothing a cutie like you has to worry about."
