Trapped

Facing fears

Beth was being possessed and they needed to get out of this house but they all knew they had to either finish the game or make a sacrifice to the house.

"If you sacrifice me you will be able to get out of here I'm not going to survive this anyway,the house wants me not the both of you.", Beth said calmly as if she hadn't just offered herself as a sacrifice.

"Stop being dramatic Beth, we're going to finish the game and all three of us will get out of here alive" Natania said but she was afraid and in her mind a sacrifice would have to happen eventually.

"Natania!" Nessa exclaimed "look at your arm it's cut,when did you get that?"

"Oh no, how could we not realize this, it's spelling out I win on our arms!"Natania screamed.

Just as Natania said that Beth felt something grab on to her ankles and then she was being dragged up the basement stairs. She screamed and you could see her head being dragged out of the basement and into the dark,emptiness of the living room.Natania and Nessa ran out of the basement just in time to see Beth desperately trying to grab onto the stairs leading to the second floor.Her screams got quieter as she was dragged up the stairs by an unseen force,something you can only begin to comprehend in the deepest,darkest corners of your nightmares.

Natania and Nessa could hear Beth's screams above them, they followed the sound of her screams and in two minutes they found her in the attic in a crouched position with scratches and deep cuts covering her legs.

"It wants me not you guys, it wants my blood to flow onto the floor", Beth said in a whisper as Nessa and Natania rushed to her side.

"Just sacrifice me, please I'm ok with it just let me go." Beth said with emotion threatening to attack her.

"No, we're all going to finish this game and get out of here" Beth argued.

All of Natania's hope had left but she just nodded, Beth had given up and she believed she would be dead within the next hour anyway so she continued for her friends.They decided to look for another note in the attic and under an empty box was a note and it said "your biggest fears come to life".

The three girls were clueless as to what the note was speaking about. They didn't know how this could happen, how something they had kept wrapped up deep in the darkest places of their minds could ever come to life.

"I think we need to face our fears to get closer to winning this game" Natania spoke in a whisper.

Natania was the first to suffer. The walls began to close in on her but this time it wasn't just in her mind it was physically happening,she froze in shock but somehow she knew that she couldn't run away from her fears anymore she had to face them,she wasn't afraid anymore so she stood still and plastered a confident smile on her face, the first for the night and slowly the walls stopped and without a word they began to look for another note. Cautious of the upcoming events that they couldn't avoid, Beth and Nessa still need to face their fears.

The walk to the other room was silent as their fears filled the space that was usually filled by them talking.

The next room they entered was small and nothing could be seen, not even the outline of a box or a shelf.All they could see was a black figure slithering across the floor then Nessa felt something wrap around her ankle. She screamed but Natania and Beth reminded her that she couldn't show her fear, she needed to face it so she stood still as the smooth skin of the snake slithered up her leg to her stomach then her neck.

Nessa took a deep breath in and held her breath until she didn't feel the snake around her neck anymore. She had faced her fear but it wasn't time to celebrate just yet, Beth still had to face her fear ,by this time though death didn't seem to bad. They continued to look for the note and they found it on a shelf, it read " you have 24 hours to find the key or someone will be gone". They were afraid but nothing in this house really shocked them anymore they had become numb to everything happening around them.

They continued walking and the next room they found was a bathroom. While they were looking for the note Natania saw a figure behind them in the mirror and she suddenly felt cold but she didn't want to look back, she didn't want to see something she didn't want to see but eventually she looked back and there was nothing there but as she was about to look back in the direction of the mirror the mirror flew off the wall and came flying at her face but luckily enough she ducked and escaped with only a scratch at the top of her forehead.

"This is so stupid, I'm so tired of this stupid game and this house." Natania said and the other two just nodded in agreement, Natania and Nessa were seriously considering sacrificing Beth. It would benefit all three of them, if she died she would finally be at peace and they could escape. Suddenly the floor began to shake and the house seemed to be shaking on its own without an earthquake and Beth already knew she would have to face her fear of earthquakes and a roof falling on her,crushing her. She just continued walking and motioned for her friends to follow her. They were amazed by the fact that she was suddenly acting normal again and that she wasn't dead yet, they had all lost their hope so this was amazing to them but a sacrifice was still on Natania's mind.
