A Free Bird

8 3 4

The soil of green grass;
A flute under a banyan tree playing far away,
The transition of the rhythm
The accuracy of notes;
So calm,
So serene.

The culvert with the smoothest tar lay,
Underneath which
The cleanest brook flows by.
It brims all day night long,
The crystalline silt
And a gleaming white sun;
So bright
So satisfying.

The lake where the lotus is blue,
Fenced by arrows:
A warning,
Need not be laid.
Their petals sprout, stretching itself
The frog watching from the border;
So mystical
So sweet.

So calm, so serene
So bright and satisfying.
Mystical, as well as sweet;
Free you go bird,
Go, fetch me some weed.
