The One That Got Away

Rest in peace my darling love,

Rest in peace on the gentle breeze,

Hold me and show me that lilting harmony,

And save me with the melody,

Love at every twist and turn,

Don't cry again at every burn,

Turn away and fade again,

As my tears make the everlasting path,

Fly away but not for long,

Another bell rings out,

For every time you run away,

I'll be there each time you wake,

And screams are heard from afar,

You'll never let them bring you down,

For you are as strong as I,

So really, there's no reason to cry,

But as the others dye again,

You think you are to rise against,

And see the world in endless sleep,

Another soul has been reaped,

For Death has come to the open door,

And there is so much more,

But Death is careful as one should be,

So have no fear of the one you call enemy,

Death will take you in his arms,

And carry you with surprising charm,

Charming as the edge of his wings,

You'll hear one more echo ring,

And out of the dark you see the light,

Because Death has not allowed any more fright,

So as you wait to be judged,

You remember all the hugs,

And from one more memory,

You hear the last of the melody.
