"Perpendicular"

Have you ever wandered how I landed into this world of unknown?
I myself have not seen, was never shown,
How you and I traveled in a straight line,
Yet in a single point we meet, at the same time.

The very day we face each other,
An awkward greeting was made for laughter,
The small smiles we exchange for a second,
As our eyes meet and yet it falters.

Little words have started to escape my lips,
A small talk that I have to try and keep.
Between you and me, our distance shrink,
In the same point, our gazes meet.

An intricate feeling has just sprouted inside me,
There goes my heart, beating so fast and crazily,
At point blank, I finally fell, I was caught in your trap,
There I knew, I have finally met you at last.

But that day has soon to come an end,
A tear from my eye, down to my cheek, it crept.
Our fingers entwine, as the last moment I have,
As soon, we had to separate ways, at the very last.

I watch you slowly vanish from my perspective,
Still, the image of you was very vivid.
Continuing on to the straight line we traveled,
Indeed, our love was perpendicular to be honest.

At one point we meet, but never intersect again,
As you and I have a different direction, in this game.
Though I had to accept the fate you and I share,
Still wishing for that encounter, I prayed.
