Chapter 5: Geonosis (Part 1)

Carrie's POV

The two weeks it took all of us to recover were long and stressful, the war had gotten to Geonosis, and none of us could do anything but stay in the base, Mon Mothma and Senator Organa wouldn't let us leave, and we were all getting tired of being there and we all knew we'd leave to Coruscant when we could, Bodhi walked to me and so did Cassian "Carrie, follow me" Bodhi whispered, the three of us walked inside a room and Cassian locked the door behind him, Jyn, Chirrut, Baze and K-2SO were in there already "okay, Cassian, Carrie, guys" Bodhi started "we're leaving" he said, Jyn and I looked at each other confused "we are going to get the Death Star plans" he turned to Jyn "and we're going to find Galen" she smiled and I nodded

"We can't leave like that, Bodhi, we have to do what we're told" Cassian retorded, I rolled my eyes at that, he always followed the rules, he never did anything carefreely, he didn't take any risks -aside from the ones we all took everyday to fight the Empire under the Rebellion's orders- and I was getting slightly tired of that, everyone also looked tired of that, and they had known him for three weeks or a month, depending on who we talk about. He looked at me and he knew what I was thinking "no, Carrie, we can't and we're not going to"

I glared at him "speak for yourself, I'm going to Geonosis with Bodhi"

"We are going too" Chirrut said "and I'm sure Jyn will come as well" she nodded

"Well then, if Cassian isn't coming, let's get going" Bodhi stated, he unlocked the door and we all walked out of the room. I knew Cassian would end up coming with us, we all knew he would

We got inside the ship and a few seconds later, Cassian got in "welcome on board, Captain Andor" Bodhi smiled, we got ready to take off and we got caught, of course... why couldn't things go right for all of us for once?

"We have to go" Jyn said to Bodhi

"It's... Rogue..." he started, thinking of something, he looked at me and Jyn slightly concerned

"Say something" I whispered

"... One. Rogue One" the guy at the other side of the line started interrogating us and we just took off

After a while, Cassian walked to me "we really shouldn't be doing this" he said, I chuckled

"Well, if we are being reckless, we'll get what we deserve"

"That's what I'm afraid of" he mumbled before walking back to Kay and Bodhi, who were piloting the ship to Geonosis, it wouldn't take us much longer to get there and I was beginning to feel uneasy, I had always been one to jump to a battle without hesitation, but there was something different about this time... it wasn't right, something wasn't right here and I didn't know what it was, no one seemed to feel concerned or scared, but I felt both, I couldn't help it.

Could it be...? No, that had been two weeks ago, it was nothing to be worried about, I wouldn't see him there and I wasn't going to think about that strange situation... but this was a battle against the Empire, and he was part of it, what would I do if I saw him? Freak out? Kill him? I was so confused and I didn't like that

"Carrie" Baze said breaking me out of my thoughts, everyone was looking at me. Shit.

"What?" I asked, I really had no idea of what was happening at that moment

Cassian and Bodhi chuckled "Jyn, Bodhi and I are going first to see what's going on out there, you, Baze, Chirrut and Kay are staying in the ship" Cassian explained, I nodded and the three of them left

"Are there a lot of imperial troops out there?" I asked worriedly, Baze nodded and I sighed "any Deathtroopers?" Don't judge me, it was reasonalble to ask, their aim was ten times better than the Stormtrooper's so I was worried

"Haven't seen any yet, just Stormtroopers" he said

After about an hour, none of the three had come back, and I was beginning to worry "what if something happened to them?" I thought out loud, the three of them looked at me and Baze shrugged, Chirrut didn't seem to be less worried than me "what is it?" When he didn't answer, I knew something wasn't right, I took my blaster and left the ship, ready for anything that could happen.

Chirrut and Baze went after me and Kay stayed in the ship, waiting to take off if something really bad happened, I almost got shot a few times, but after killing all those Stormtroppers and some more, I saw Cassian get shot on his leg and he collapsed, I rushed to him and, somehow, managed to kill the Stormtroopers behind me "Baze! Chirrut!" I called "take him to the ship, he can't stay here, Jyn, Bodhi and I will handle this" I said, Cassian went to argue but he just sighed, knowing it would be a waste of time

Bodhi and Jyn walked to me as Baze and Chirrut took Cassian to the ship "what happened?" Jyn asked

"He got hit but he'll be fine... let's go kick some imperial asses" I said, they both smiled and we began shooting every single trooper we saw, there were no officers or Deathtroopers, which made us all somehow relieved.

"Jyn! There's an imperial ship landing!" Bodhi shouted over all the shooting, she turned and saw a few shuttles leaving a Star Destroyer, this couldn't end well... we kept shooting Stormtroopers and after we had built a wall with the dead ones, shooting began on the other side, the bodies fell down and Deathtroopers made their way to us.

Why were there Deathtroopers here? It didn't make sense, they were never alone, they were always with-

Krennic.

He was somewhere near... Shit.
