You can't please everyone.

That's a rule of thumb that you learn as an adolescent. You can't always run as fast or draw as well as different people expect you to. An athlete can't throw a football far enough for every single coach.

If you want to please everyone, you have to tear yourself down - your image, your personality - everything - in order to conform to the entire society. What you don't know is how people will perceive you.

Self-discovery happens when you figure out that in order to please everyone, you have to give up all of yourself. It happens when you realize that you're making yourself inferior to standards of others and ignoring your own needs.

Self-discovery happens when you unearth your soul's permanence.

But first, you must be susceptible to your own weaknesses.
