Tears streamed down your cheeks. You sat on the front porch of your house under the dark, cold blanket of night. You had just gotten back from the Dingo where you found your boyfriend out with another girl. Needless to say, it was over. You hated him. You hated him so much but you loved him more than anything—And that's what made it hurt so bad. Over the six months you had been dating, you had fallen in love with your boyfriend, and now it was all gone.

Another tear dropped onto your knee. The wind blew past you, bringing in the scent of distant rain. You closed your eyes and your head fell in your arms. As you cried silently, you didn't even notice someone approaching. When you finally noticed the footsteps, your head shot up to find your friend Dallas staring down at you. You two always made each other laugh and would show each other how cool you were. It was a fun relationship between the two of you.

You wiped your face with a sniff. "Go ahead." You muttered. "Make fun of me for crying."

He shook his head with a tisk, reaching a hand down to you. You took it reluctantly and he pulled you to your feet. "Why would I make fun of a girl who just got her heart broken by a jerk that didn't deserve her in the first place?"

"Because you're an asshole." You chuckled sadly.

He laughed deep and throatily. "Only some of the time."

He put his hands in his pockets and you expected him to pull out a smoke, but he didn't. The cold wind made you shiver, and Dally's eyebrows furrowed. "Dammit y/n, where's your coat?" He said slipping his jacket off and wrapping it around you.

Lightning blasted through the air accompanied by a crack of thunder causing you to jump. He let out a chuckle and wrapped his coat around you tighter. "Hopefully that hit your ex-boyfriend's house."

You smiled and couldn't help but giggle. "How'd you know we broke up?"

He blushed, and you were a little taken aback. You had never seen Dally blush and now that you thought about it, this was the nicest you had seen Dally in a long time. "Word gets around fast." He mumbled.

A light rain began falling around you, making the pools of light from the lights that lined the streets waver. The ever-so-slightly flickering street lights illuminated Dally's face perfectly. His sharp cheekbones and jawline looked extra defined, and his ruffled, greaseless hair a golden hue of brown. You'd never really looked at Dally this way before. You always thought of him as a friend, as someone to goof around with. But for some reason, now, you realized that you may think of him a little differently.  "You're shaking y/n." He said quietly.

"It's been a pretty rough night."

He smiled slightly, unnoticeably moving closer to you. As another crack of thunder shook the ground beneath you, he smiled at your scared reaction. "The thunder ain't gonna hurt you none." He chuckled.

A moment of silence went by, the only space filler was the pattering of rain on the concrete. "You're a good friend Dally." You said softly.

You hadn't even noticed that your faces were now just inches away. "What if I wanna be more than friends?" His voice so quiet you thought for a second you heard him wrong.

"I don't know if I'm ready for another boyfriend Dal'." You held your hands together.

You knew that you shouldn't be with him. You had just broken up with someone and you didn't want Dally to be a rebound. But he knew exactly what you were thinking. And though you resisted, you wanted more than anything for him to kiss you. "How 'bout you tell me if you're ready after this." He whispered, his warm breath touching your lips.

Then he kissed you. This kiss felt different from all those you had kissed before him. The boy you had just felt heartbroken over five minutes ago felt like nothing anymore. You had never kissed him like this, he never made you feel this way. A way you knew only Dally could.

He placed his hand on the back of your neck and pulled you closer. Your brain was telling you to pull away, but every other part of you, every other feeling in your body told you to stay right where you were. Your senses felt like they were exploding with excitement and happiness as he cupped your face and you ran your fingers through his hair.

When the rain started pouring and made the kiss watery, you stopped with a giggle. He couldn't help but chuckle at it too. "So?" He smirked.

"Hm?"

"How'd you feel now?"

"I feel like I've been with the wrong guy for the past six months."

"You're telling me doll."
