Rhonda.
We finally made it to the studio and honestly, I was shitting bricks. I hadn't seen Donald in a year and quite frankly, I didn't even want to see him right now. But business is business and I'm willing to be professional if that meant the girls would be getting a deal.
Chonita, Radiah, and La'Shawn walked ahead of us while Melissa pulled me back some and spoke in almost a whisper, "You good? You know I would understand if you just walked back out, right? And just know I wouldn't blame you. But this is bigger than DeVante and his infidelity. This is your future we're talkin' about. Whatever you do, don't let him get to you." I nodded, not really caring much of what she had to say since I was too busy mentally preparing myself.
They opened the door and walked in, loudly greeting Donald and whoever else was in the studio and we followed in after them, letting the door close behind us. I adjusted my sweatshirt over my breasts and grinned shyly as I took small steps forward and Melissa joined the other girls while they hugged the guys. There were two other guys I didn't quite recognize but I waved anyhow. One was more on the chubby side, about 5'7", and had a mustache and beard. He was a handsome lil' fella, he just wasn't my type. Apparently, Melissa already knew him because she walked over to him with a wide smile, shocked while he hugged her and they began to talk to each other. The other male was 6'2", had a head full of curly hair and looked like he was Puerto Rican or something. He had straight pearly white teeth which he flaunted as he smiled at me. Now he was my type. But, I liked the way things were going with Nasir so I wasn't planning on giving another guy my attention. At least not right now.
I was wearing a yellow Fila sweatshirt with a hint of red and white that I had cut right below my breasts, red fishnet stockings that sat above the start of my denim jeans which were high-waisted and slightly loose fitting, rocking some large gold hoops and retro aviator glasses. I wore all-white adidas and a white baseball cap to top off the look. My hair was in a high ponytail with my baby hairs styled and gelled down.
I could feel DeVante's eyes on me so I politely turned to look in his direction, offering a smile. His gaze traveled up and down my anatomy with no shame, and that was honestly the reaction I wanted. I wanted him to regret what he did. Because after all, he was never going to find another woman who loved him as much as me. When his eyes met mine, he smiled and rose up from his seat, walking over to where I was standing with his hands shoved in his front pockets.
"Hey, Rho."
"What's up, D? I see you got some other talent here, too", I stated as he glanced over at the two males.
"Oh, yeah. That's DJ Tim, well he's Timbaland now but....and the other one is Tornado. Don't ask me why he chose that shit. It's a lot better than what he had before. I just call his ass Elgin because both of the names stupid as hell."
I laughed and shook my head. Tornado. What kind of foolishness—? "Well, I'm glad to see you're doing good for yourself. I know you're probably working on the second album now, huh?"
He shrugged, seeming to be somewhat discouraged, "Yeah."
"It'll work out. Don't think so much. Can I hear what you got so far?", I asked as I moved around him, heading over to the soundboard and sitting in his seat which was still warm. Once I was comfortable, he came up behind me, placing his hands on the corners of the backrest of the chair and leaned to speak into my ear.
His voice was deep and in almost a whisper, "I missed you." He nuzzled his nose into the crook of my neck, inhaling my scent before gently planting a kiss against my skin.
