Recap.

|      I know there's a lot of drama in this story and I told you guys a while back that it was about to get real, lol. Because there's so much going on, I wanted to give you guys a recap on things so nobody will be overwhelmed or confused.      |

Mary Jane and Sue had an issue with Rhonda that's goes all the way back to when DeVante used to date Mary Jane. MJ was always envious of the friendship he and Rhonda had, causing the two friends to actually split apart at some point. By the way, MJ and Sue are sisters.

La'Shawn is Melissa's friend who Rhonda allowed to be part of the group Fayze. She and Rhonda had never got along because of her bad attitude and jealous nature. Once Rhonda introduced the group to DeVante, La'Shawn's been plotting and doing sneaky sh*t regarding Rhonda so she could get with him. She pretty much took advantage of him while he was drunk and crying over Rhonda—sleeping with him and bragging about it to Chonita and Radiah. Rhonda founded out and tried to get her kicked out of the group but she ran to DeVante with her contract so he took up for her instead and dismissed Rhonda. When he moved the group to Newark, La'Shawn started sleeping around with him while he was in a relationship with Kim and got upset when Rhonda showed up to the hospital to support DeVante. She took the lyrics she had stolen from Rhonda (who had left the paper on the piano the night he kicked her out of the studio) and took it to JD and pretended they were hers and also gave him the rights to You Want This (they recorded it with him originally).

Kim used to date Al, whom Rhonda became friends with during the time they were working together. Suddenly, Rhonda sees Kim with DeVante and it rubs her the wrong way. Since then, she hasn't had much respect for Kim and feels some kind of way toward her because she didn't show up to the hospital to help DeVante.

She and Nasir met at the record store and exchanged numbers, went out a few times but she still kept her options open for DeVante. Once he dogged her and kicked her out of the studio over La'Shawn, she left and began to start a new life with Nasir, who seemed to be an amazing guy. During her relationship with him, she always had to reassure him that she loved him and not DeVante, which annoyed her. He treated her well and never disrespected her but that started to change once she went to the hospital after DeVante had gotten robbed and started helping him around his house. Once she founded out that Nasir had been hindering DeVante from contacting her the whole time, she broke up with him because she couldn't date someone controlling who didn't trust her.

DeVante cheated on Rhonda with Janet a while back and has slept around with a lot of different women since then, including Kim out of boredom but he somehow needed to feel as if Rhonda was still a part of his life so he became infatuated with the idea of being in a relationship, choosing Kim because she was beautiful and happened to be the only woman in this life that he knew before fame and wasn't signed to his label. He wasn't truly happy with his relationship with her but he kept it going for the sex and because he didn't want to be alone. Despite Kim's clinginess, it helped when it came to making him feel wanted/needed. He ended up getting drunk one night and still doesn't know that La'Shawn had slept with him that night while he was crying over Rhonda. However, he slept around with her afterwards while he was sober in Newark, so...lol. Now La'Shawn is acting out and the person she's working with just-so-happens to be Janet.

He's not too fond of K-Ci because he's always drinking and saying stupid sh*t, provoking fights and swinging at DeVante from time to time. Now K-Ci even more annoying because he's dating Mary J Blige, who's crazier than him. She's always popping up at the most random places, causing a scene, and accusing K-Ci of cheating (which he was but, still). He always tell K-Ci to just break up with her before it gets out of hand but he never listens.

DeVante has a struggled relationship with his father. He's always looked up to him and respected him, focusing more on music than he did academics because there was so much pressure to be perfect when it came to playing instruments for the church. Though DeVante was always trying to please his father, his father only commended Dalvin on his athletic and academic performances, still being a dictator instead of a father to DeVante. He never wanted him to do any other music but gospel, breaking any vinyl records he founded around the house that was he considered the "devil's music." Eventually, DeVante had grew tired of trying to please his father, making music he wanted to make (with the help of Dalvin, K-Ci, and JoJo's added vocals). He got the courage to use his money and go to Minneapolis to see if he could work with Prince but didn't have a home to go back to once he was denied and had to stay with the Hailey's. It hurt him to know that his father never loved or cared him as much as he had loved and cared for him. He still respects his father and constantly thinks about how things could've been if he had never ran away to Minneapolis, assuming he would still have his father as a part of his life.

Nasir stole his woman, beat him, and robbed him.
