The mint mojito gum I'd been chewing had lost its flavour.
I kicked off my boots and put my tiny feet up on the dashboard.
"Hey Simon , can I ask you something "
"Sure thing doll"
"Do people change ? "
"Well I'd have to say yeah , people change all the time. Why your dad changed. He used to be the happiest man alive and he had more friends than God himself. Then he changed. He's alone now , sure he has all his men but they're not his friends they're just negan, one mindless army. That's just how it goes. I'm sure one day you'll grow up and be very different from the sweet 8 year old you are now Connie."
My eight year old self didn't understand back then.
But now I got it.
People change. I've changed.
Like my mint mojito gum.
I've lost my flavour.
