the ocean

i'm drowning
the water is surrounding my body as i fall farther from the sun and closer to the darkness.
the darkness is friendly sometimes, until i remember i can't breathe
the pressure in my ears is building
my lungs are begging desperately for air
but the cement is covering my feet and i can't get to the sun and breathe
i'm so deep in the water i can barely see the sun
the water weighs a ton now
as my sorrows are consuming me like a shark in a sea of tears
and spitting me out hurt so i'm suffering
i'm begging the water to please leave me alone
you're drowning me but you can't tell
how alone the ocean is now
