Pattie

I woke up in the middle of the night after hearing Justin's cries coming all the way from his room. I quickly got up to check on him and when I walked in the room he cried even more.

"Wh-where's C-Camila?" He asked.

It had been a week and a half since he hadn't seen her. At first I thought he took the goodbye well but then I realized he didn't actually know it was a goodbye.

"Camila's gone, bubs, Savanah is going to come soon since mommy's vacation is almost over," I explained.

"I m-miss Camila!" He yelled rocking back and forth. Within seconds he was smacking himself in the chest over and over again. I tried holding him back but he was too strong.

I couldn't stop him, it was impossible. I had to do something else about it, he couldn't continue hurting himself.

I quickly walked into the bathroom and pulled the orange bottle of pills from the medicine cabinet before pouring some water into a glass. I walked back over to Justin's room and sat down in front of him trying to hold him down again.

I opened the bottle of pills and took one out.

"No! No! I d-don't want to!" He yelled hitting my arms that were holding him down.

"I know Justin but you need to calm down honey, please," I begged.

He continued hitting me so I reached for his mouth and forced the pill into his mouth. I held the glass of water in front of his lips but he wasn't taking any of it.

"S-stop it mommy! No!"

"Swallow, did you swallow? Open your mouth," I ordered.

He opened his mouth revealing the little white pill. I tried giving him the water again but he wouldn't drink it. I quickly pinched his nose until he had to open his mouth to breath. I poured the water into his mouth and he quickly swallowed.

"That's a good boy, thank you. You'll feel better in a couple of seconds," I said.

He slowly stopped hitting my arms and I let go of him as his eyes began closing until he was fast asleep.

I pulled the sheets over him and placed a kiss on his forehead before leaving. It had been months since I didn't have to do that but there was no way I would be able to control him.

The next day was fine, Justin didn't wake until late in the day and when he did he only ate and went back to sleep.

The day after that he was back to being fussy. He cried and cried over and over again and I had work that day. Luckily Savanah came earlier than expected and she helped me hold him down while I gave him his medicine again.

"He's not going to be a problem for the next couple of days, he'll have to get used to you and once he does we won't need to give him medicine. You know what to do if anything else happens right?" I asked her.
