I think Ravenclaw really fits Japan, he's very calm and logical.

Okay, imagine this, Japan is a normal kid going to normal school, he's sort of an outcast because he's different from all the other muggle kids. He gets his letter and is thrown into the wizarding world. Everything is really new to him and he finds it strange but loves it. He wants to learn everything he can about magic and become and expert. He still acts normal compared to everyone else but he always feels like he needs to change something about himself to fit in. He's always an outcast, with wizards and with muggles.
Best class: Charms.
Worst class: Divination
Japan becomes friends with Germany and Italy on their first day of school, because he feels comfortable around them.
Japan is still great with a katana, and practices at home.
Japan is also someone who people regularly come to to rant about life, making Japan aware about almost everyone's drama, but never really involved.
