I'm going to compare DOS(dreams of Estorra)to 2 particular anime, SAO(Sword Art Online) and LogH(Log Horizon), I suggest watching LogH, its story is amazing and its ACTUALLY like an MMO, Unlike SAO which you should watch it to criticise it since there are so many mistakes. Here, I'll explain this horrible anime in 2 short seconds:

But ANYWAY, today, I AM COMPARING themmmm SOOO LESSGOO.
oh so once again btw spoilers.
so anyway, I scanned some episodes looking for similarities from both anime
COMPARISON
first up, in the first episode, they kill a boar, pretty simple, right?

In SAO Jesus and Klein kill a boar at the beginning.

Simon is a bit too much of a roleplayer, uses things too literally and sometimes overexaggerates i guess, generally nice to all people he lets in more. He is also a Bard!

In LogH isuzu is a bard, and the person she is usually hanging out with is rudy *theory on/about this later* Rudy is a bit like simon, better if you get to know him.

DOS used VR to enter the game, shutting your body from moving.

THEORIES:
1.
Simon, like Rudy could be an Estorrian, Most of the evidence I have to suggest this is 1. The connection between him Rudy and Isuzu 2. In ep 2 (or 3 i think) Aphmau comes into the game and finds out that Simon had brought food with all their money, Aphmau questions it because its a game, Simon is a player, so why would he need food, also he got there way earlier, suggesting he might either be faster, or he literally fell asleep since he's not a player.
THE PLAYER TATTOO:
What about Simon's tattoo? You know, the one every player chooses the spot of at the start of the game? No one said it couldn't be forged, actually now thinking about it, if there was a said 'place you could forge player tattoos' there's no telling how many fake players there could be out there.
2. This isn't really a theory, it's sort of an idea, what if the players got trapped in DOS? Either SAO mass murder style, or 'WE WILL NOT EXPLAIN THIS UNTIL THE 3RD SEASON, O WAIT, RANDOM 2 YEAR GAP BECAUSE PROBLEMS, SHOW CANCELLED BYE'.
Anyway since the world is real this would be a good concept
