"Imagine a day where you were defenceless, your heart beating within your penetrable chest, a day where you were human. What would you do with that one day Niklaus?"

I sighed as Elijah's words sunk into my defenceless brain. He was trying to counsel me, how dare he. I should've been insulted, yet his question was daring, I thought hard. For a moment I was silent, my hands brought themselves towards my chin as I pondered.

"Well?"

I hissed at my brother as he interrupted my train of thought.

"Nothing. Absolutely nothing, because I never want to feel so weak, so useless."

Elijah sighed and placed his hand on his hip. His grey blazer hung over his arm that disturbed the once perfect fit. I could tell he was tense, done with the amount of effort he put into making me a better person.

"Leave me be, get out." I ordered, standing from my throne. Elijah stared at me in disbelief. If I didn't have a metal cage wrapped around my cold heart I probably would've felt bad. Elijah hummed and left the room without a word.

Two beautiful words, one wonderful name sprung to thought, my brain still steaming at my brothers former question. What would I do if I was human? Well. I'd go to Caroline Forbes.

I couldn't help but smirk at my mind being playful. Of course, that's exactly what I'd do. If I was human, Caroline would have to protect me from all the predators that wanted me dead, I know she would.

Plan A; find Stefan and drink the cure myself instead of him throwing it away for that dreadful rodent Elena Gilbert. I vamped from the house, rushing past my brothers and sister before they had a chance to ask where I was heading.

To me the plan was perfect, she'd fall for me once she realised how good I was as a person, not a hybrid beast. Again, I felt my dimples pierce my cheeks as the smile I once formed spread across my face once more.

Finally, I caught a glimpse of him, that idiot remerging through a cave filled with nothing but heaps of treasure. I thought best to ignore him and leave, but then something else caught my eye. A magnificent, sparkling silver tiara. The diamonds carved within must've been at least as old as I. I couldn't help but take it for my queen. Whom else would use it other than the beauty it belonged too. I paused in my tracks after a red glow came from beneath the rocks under the chest.

I was intrigued. I carefully moved the stones and to my surprise Stefan was right. The cure was indeed inside this ancient cave. I picked it up, placed it inside my coat pocket and grabbed the tiara.

I heard someone approach me, footsteps that were smaller than a males. I furrowed my brows, without turning I already knew who stood behind me. The scent, that fragrance that I knew oh so well. Sweet smelling roses, lilies and tulips. It was her. I couldn't help but smile as I turned to face the creation of god stood before me.

"Hello, love."

"Klaus. Might I ask what you're doing here?" Caroline huffed as she placed her hands on her hips. Her attitude reeled me in. If it wasn't the strops or the glint in her eyes, it was the pearly white smile that came to her mouth each time I said the word love. It was her enchantment, her weakness, her un-doing.

"Well, love. I came here for the same reason the Salvatore is here, and for somewhat matter, you. I'm looking for the cure."

Already I knew she believed darkness in me as she rolled her eyes. "I can't believe you want to find the cure first to fill Stefan with more hatred towards you."

Is that what she thought? I wanted to steal the cure and hide it from him so he couldn't give it to Elena. I scoffed.

"My turn. What exactly are you doing here?"
