::Your Pov::
You fixed your F/C sleeves.
Right. F/N L/N. You've got this. All your training has lead you to this and you're going to ace it. Be hopeful, just believe.
You inhaled deeply as you squeezed the microphone in your hand. You watched as a contestant finished her song. The judges out there seemed to be hard to impress.
She got a 5, 3, and a 4. That's the highest score yet.
You squeezed your microphone even more and exhaled.
I can do this though. I can tie with her.
The woman walked off the stage and over to a group of friends. They wouldn't allow your friends to come. Apparently they did something in the past that endangered the judges or something. You shakily walked out onto stage, gripping the microphone tighter than before. There were three judges. One was dressed in a black suit and tie. His hair was a strange brown color. He also had a eyepatch over his right eye. The second was a female with blue hair. And then the third judge was a brunette with a green hoodie on. He had many papers next to him with things on them that were too far away to see. But you assumed that they were drawings. He had his pencil in hand already, but the other two didn't. You blinked twice and brought the microphone to your face. First introducing yourself. Then singing.
++Time Skip++
You lowered the mic, waiting. Slowly, one by one, the judges wrote down their numbers and rose their boards. The first judge held up a 3. You shifted your weight to your right foot. Now the second judge held up their number, a 1. Now you knew, even if the last judge gave you the highest number, a 5 wouldn't help. And you watched as the last judge held up his number, a 5, with a sad face. Your face fell and you spoke into the microphone.
"Thank you for your time. Goodbye." You dragged your feet off the stage.
You were the last contestant of the night, and you blew it. All that time you had before preforming and you spent it all, worrying about what numbers you would get. You sat on a chair, keeping your head up with your hands. The third judge seemed to want to see you get father into the competition. But you got one of the lowest numbers. You breathed heavily and exhaled, then you felt a hand on your back. You jumped in the seat as you looked back at who it was. It was the third judge.
"Hey. I'm sorry you're not making it farther into the competition. I thought you were really good." He said.
"Yeah well, the other two sure didn't think so." You sighed, slouching.
"Oh, they just don't see your talent as a singer." He complemented.
You cracked a smile.
"Heh. Thanks." You said. "What's your name?"
"The one and only Edd Gould." He bowed to you. "At your service."
"Um, okey." You smiled. "Well, you're pretty nice and funny." You pulled out a paper that you've wanted to give to someone for a long time. "Here's my number."
"Your... phone number?" Edd hesitated to take the paper.
"What other number would I be talking about?" You quiz, tilting your head.
"Heh, yeah... I guess you're right. I don't know what I was thinking." He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "Thanks."
"You're welcome. Feel free to call whenever." You stood up and ruffled his hair. "Thank you for trying to get me father into the competition, Edd."
"You're welcome." He shrugged.
"Goodbye." You waved.
He smiled weakly and waved back.
"Bye."
