I turned as Maya and i walked into the woods i looked at Aitos body going unnoticed by the townsfolk who have now forgotten all about the terrible fight that had just happened. i had used my powers during the end of the fight to make sure no one would freak out about two humans brawling with supernatural powers and wiped their memory. i also laid a barrier around Aitos body and put it into anyone who enters the kingdoms mind to avoid the body subconsciously. Maya and i finally reached a safe place to talk in the woods as i put up a barrier to keep anyone from getting in, as well as us from getting out. Maya turned to me and caught me in her arms as i fell to the ground more tired than i have ever been. "poor soul. must have been using all of your strength to make sure you didn't pass out until you knew we were in the clear. you never once looked ready to pass out though." that was the last thing i heard someone say before i closed my eyes and took a long and nice nap. when i awoke i was on a bed in a house and not in a forest anymore. i looked out the window to see myself back in town. a man came in and said "glad you're awake. your friends have been worried about you." the man shout the door to let me collect my thoughts after just waking up. i went down stairs to see two worried women sitting down. Wix and Maya cheered up as soon as they saw me. Maya even came over to hug me and then backed off. we left the inn as i asked maya how long i'd been passed out for. apparently only a day. "that's good." i muttered. maya and i went to the gates for something maya wanted to show me. "here." she said pointing at the entrance to the castle. "what? you mean in there? weren't you running in the opposite direction?" i asked. "yes, but for a different reason. i suddenly woke up inside the castle and needed to make sure no one would find me if they did i wouldn't be able to tell if they were friend or foe." maya said. we went up to the gate and maya registered herself as valid and told the guards i was with her and to let me in. after a minute of the guards protesting they gave in and let us through. Wix was hiding in my pocket so we didn't have to worry about another protest. we walked through the garden and into the castle with two stairs leading up to a higher part of the interior. "this way." maya said. she seemed to know her way around the castle like she'd been here a couple of times. i followed her down a hallway and up more stairs until we came upon the center room with giant doors and an odd shaped crest plastered on the doors. the crest looked like angel wings folded into a u shape and decorations all over the bottom with flowers and vines. the door began to open as i peaked inside the room and saw a normal looking human sitting at a desk with a big smile on his face saying "welcome." "uh, hi, uh, sir?" i said confused as to what to say. "please, relax here and sit we have all the time in the world to chit-chat." the man at the desk said. suddenly two chairs appeared and my senses indicated a human near my location. i looked around the room and saw a lot of people looking like humans. i only sensed maybe two or three humans using their powers, but that meant it could be hard to fight them. my body tensed up waiting for someone to come out. "relax i said, my servants will do no harm to you especially after what they witnessed you do yesterday." the man said. "wait? i thought i..." i said interrupted by the man finishing my sentence "thought you wiped everyones minds did you? no. my servant have barriers put up all around the castle and blocks other humans powers. even the best and strongest humans could not penetrate this barrier. that includes you." the man started getting a very sadistic grin on his face. "please i insist take a seat." he said. maya and i took a seat and as i looked over to maya who encouraged me to talk i couldn't think of anything i wanted to talk specifically about. "well..i guess..the history of this place and how it came to be?" i asked. "well that's a start?" the man said snapping his fingers and we were instantly teleported into a room of pure white with no one else around but the four of us, Wix, me, maya, and the man at the desk. "oh, my apologies allow me to introduce myself. i'm the king of this floating piece of land. the name's lay." Lay said. "lay? figures you'd name a kingdom after yourself." i said unimpressed. "why not? many great kings have done the same in both this world and your own am i correct?" Lay asked. "well. you may not be wrong or wrong in doing it, but nowadays in my world it's considered selfish to do such a thing. it isn't illegal however just makes people have less respect for you is all." i said. "well, i'll answer your question now. judging by the appearance you've watched some pretty sad stuff huh?" Lay asked. "how would you know that? you can't tell by my clothes and look alone." i said. "clothes and looks tells a person their character. you my friend are wearing clothes like that because you feel lost, and your look tells me you've lost someone correct?" Lay said. "i won't deny it. but i won't say you're correct either. if you want look into my past with those servants of yours. i can tell where all three of them are right now anyway." i said closing my eyes using my powers to let me see through my ears. i could see two figures invisible behind the blinds behind the kings desk in the real world, and one sneezing in an air duct above us. "my, my, you certainly are good." Lay said. i relaxed my muscles and put up a defense system in my head so any telepathy would not work without my consent. "try using all three of your girls to get into my head for any info on me you may need. you fooled me for a minute there, but i can tell you're not human." i said crossing my arms. "why? do you have a thing against non-humans?" Lay asked. "no. i just don't like being tricked. it gets on my nerves when i start feeling stupid." i said. Maya was nervously watching the two of us as we both tried besting each other with our words and talking about ourselves. a short squabble later Lay said chuckling "OK, OK. about this land." Lay began explaining how it came to be, suddenly the entire white room lit up with better detailed pictures to go along with the story "long ago a man bigger than the universe and farther away than the stars had made two planets one with life thriving and evolving into the planet known as earth. but somewhere in another location far far away from earths location and solar system this planet was made, it had no life and was a barren wasteland. the giant man know as 'one' had decided to take select few inhabitants of earth and put them on the non-thriving planet. they died from the environment and just as the man was about to give up on the dead planet he got an idea. he gave a new species that had just surfaced on planet earth. humans. a power to become intelligent and civilized people. he marveled at his work as they began evolve creating towns and cities and countries he began downsizing the population little by little sending them to this planet. however the humans could not breathe and suffocated. but this led to the man giving powers to humans who could use their own imagination to survive. he figured their intelligence would allow them to figure it out, and some did. soon after they began creating wonderful things around the planet even remaking certain lifeforms from earth." Lay said. "wait why couldn't he just use the same powers he gave the humans?" i asked. "that's a very good question. to answer that i guess the best explanation would be he wanted to see how his own created life does things on their own. like how people believe in free will and such." Lay continued his story "this world soon began procreating our species we have called ourselves the 'ones' as to honor the man in the story." "we coexist with any species or race that may enter this planet, as it has had many visitors come and go." Lay said. "wait. so i could leave any time?" i asked. "yes, but your memories would be nothing more than a dream however." Lay answered. i finally looked at the mans face and attire to see him wearing a casual white t-shirt and blue jeans and had the body and face of a small child. i couldn't believe i didn't realize it before now, but i was talking to a little boy around the age 9 or 10. he had monkey like features with brown fur and a smile on his face acting carefree eating a banana with his feet on his desk and hand behind his head. "what? didn't notice i took off my disguise just now? you thought humans were the only ones with powers, but monkeys are very similar to humans you know." Lay said acting proud of the fact. "i don't care continue the story." i said calming down. "this planet was plagued by darkness 500 years ago and was sealed by the five sages. they were angels with real bird wings who rose up and protected the entire universe from being swallowed whole." Lay said lowering his banana and smile. "they sealed the darkness for 200 years until the seal was broken and the darkness re awoke. the new five sages at the time were only teenagers young and inexperienced, the one who was supposed to do the sealing was a scaredy cat who even after pretending to be brave was still scared on the inside." Lay continued on with his story as the atmosphere began to get intense. i just sat there paying attention to his story with my eyes closed. "another one of the five sages had foolishly taken the responsibility the scared teen was supposed to take on and headed out for battle against the darkness. which leads me to my next history lesson. the light and dark orbs are balance holders for the universe they are put on a scale and left to balance the good and evil of the world to keep the universe at peace. however the selfish teen had taken the orbs and absorbed them into his hands before taking off into battle. the teen fell in combat with the other five sages and the orbs split into 3 different pieces each. 2 remained with the selfish teen, one went into the scared teen and a piece went into the other 3 teens. we have no record of who they might've been given we only recently started advancing our technology a hundred years ago." Lay said concluding his story. "wait. so how did the darkness get sealed then?" i asked. Maya had her head turned and looked like she was hiding something as the story had gone on. "you see, it never did get sealed the darkness has been lose since then roaming the planet to get stronger. after all if you were imprisoned for over 200 years wouldn't you be weak and hungry too?" Lay asked. i closed my eyes and snapped my fingers and the room went back to normal. Lay looked at me shocked that i ended our chat. "how are you able to do that? i had three of my best humans put up a room that not one person could override!?" Lay asked shocked. "i simply put three different rooms over the girls and then made them fall asleep, you should've realized that i had been closing my eyes to spy on them in the room and then used my powers to make them unable to keep their powers up anymore, especially when omnipotent powers drains a human of energy quickly without the right mental strength." i said as the guards behind us pointed their spears at us. i snapped my fingers and the guards fell to the floor sleeping. "bye, see you in the future maybe." i said waving my hand goodbye as Maya and i walked out the door. "wait!" Lay said reaching out his hand over his desk. it was too late Maya and i were already into town by the time he could do anything. Maya and i found ourselves at the same place as before when i passed out in her arms and set up the barrier once again for us to talk. "there's something i need to tell you, Jack?" Maya said looking concerned. "what is it?" i asked. "well, you see...i..you..before i left Crossed Lines..i!" Maya said as a shadow of a figure swooped down and grabbed maya before she could finish. "well done new arrival, please, tell me your name." a voice said from a tree branch slowly clapping his hands. i looked up to see the man in all white once again before me. "you were at that village when i first arrived not too long ago!" i said. "indeed. although i never caught your name." he said. "let Maya go!" i said. "no. she is important to unlocking the legend!" the man said he sounded crazy. "now stop getting in the heroes way and make like a pile of garbage, and die!" the man said snapping his fingers causing pillars of fire to rise up all around me. "good luck getting out of this one, i'm by far the strongest in the entire organization, which i assume you found out is called Crossed Lines?" the man said leaving with a salute and vanishing into the forest. on the day of the fight between Aito and Jack after it was finished the man in white had gathered all 40 members for a meeting. "as some of you may know this man has arrived some time ago and came into contact with this man. they fought and the new arrival one jailing one of our members. i want you all to forget about my previous order, and eradicate him! he has put another member into a state of death, if you can bring him alive so he may undo it. but if it happens that for some reason you could not capture him alive? then bring me his head!" the man in white said whispering soon after "this villain will not be spared twice." in the present surrounded by flames i did the only thing i could think of, well not the only thing, but the best thing i could think of. i jumped high into the air and started walking on air over the pillars and dropped onto the ground. i felt ready for a nap already but had to keep myself together. i thought of the map i had memorized and what i had learned about this world from people at farmers markets. they said a rebellion was in a place called loafa, i saw it on the map in my head and pictured me teleported there. i was going after the organization whether i wanted to or not now.
