Amelia's POV

12 months before

I was still at the library waiting for Jeff, which was weird because he's never had me wait. He's always been here on time and I'm never the one waiting

I looked out the open doors to see him talking to someone. I thought nothing of it until he kissed her. My heart sunk. I can't believe I ever thought someone like him could like someone like me

I could feel the tears start so I grabbed my things and ran out the library as fast as I could making sure that he saw me before I ran off in the direction of my car not caring if I needed to finish school

I heard someone yelling behind me "Lia, what are you doing we have to study. I got a B on my history test" I wiped my tears and turned around. I watched his smile drop as he noticed my teary eyed faced

He reached out to hold my hand but I moved it away "Good job Jeff" I managed to squeak out

"What's wrong?"

"You!" I said making him jump a little "You expect someone to not feel hurt when you're kissing other people in front of them!" I said and stormed off not letting him speak

I got in my car and watched as he turned around but then turned back around and ran to my car. It made my heart flutter a little

He knocked on the passenger side window wanting to get in. I rolled the window down a little "What?"

"I didn't kiss her. She didn't kiss me. I was kissing her cheek because I was excited to ask you something and she was helping me with what to say"

I scrunched my eyebrows "So I overreacted about nothing" I said unlocking my car doors letting him in

"It was sweet. Shows how much you loooove me" He said kissing my cheek

"But I'm so stupid. I should've asked you before I took it out of hand like that"

He reached over and put his hand in my hair "You're not stupid! You're gorgeous, smart, funny, and you're the girl I like. Not Sheri"

I laughed "Wait you mean Sheri, as in my best friend Sheri? You should've told me it was Sheri! Then I would've known that you didn't kiss her"

"Why" He asked with a smile

"Because! She likes you but not like likes you. You know?" Like me I wanted to say

"Like you?"

"Yeah" I laughed

He chuckled before leaning in to kiss me

"So do you want a ride home?"

That night I was up trying to think of what he wanted to ask me. I got tired of it so I texted him

Hey
What did you what to ask me?

Aw shit. I knew I forgot something
I'll be over in T-Minus one minute

I gasped and ran to the mirror to make sure I looked okay. I then ran downstairs and sat on the couch

"Waiting for someone honey?" My mom asked sitting down next to me

"Yes and it's officially the longest minute ever"

"Oh is it Jeff? I can tell he likes you. Has he asked you that question yet?"

"No I think he's asking me when he gets here. What is it?"

She just shook her head. I sighed and waited. I jumped up when I heard the doorbell

I opened the door to see balloons in my face and I gasped. I accidentally popped one making me scream. I have no idea how but it scared the living hell out of me

"Aw man I popped one" I said under my breath. I heard Jeff's muffled laugh making me giggle

I attempted to find his face by pushing some aside. I eventually found him but I was greeted by a sign that said 'Be Mine?'

"I mean I would hug you" I said laughing at the amount of balloons in my face

He dropped them and opened his arms. I walked to him with a smile but he backed away "Is that a yes?" He asked

"Duh" I said screaming as he ran to me but he picked me up and spun me around

"Yay!" He said in a girl voice once again

I laughed before crashing our lips together "Yay OTP" My mom started chanting

He put me down and my face heated up with embarrassment. I buried my face into his neck as he tried to do the same
