"Hey where are you?" I asked in the voicemail for what seemed like the thousandth time

It wasn't like Jeff not to answer me like this. I sighed laying down on my bed looking at my ceiling

What did I do? Is he cheating on me? Who is the other girl? Is it a man though? What if he's gay?I shook my head, he wouldn't do that to me. He wouldn't date me for almost a year then say 'Oh hey, yeah I'm gay'

"He's probably just sleeping in for his game tomorrow. You have nothing to worry about Amelia" I said to myself but it didn't calm me down. My heart was still beating fast

I decided I should turn on my television to get my mind off of my Jeff problems. We were still dating but he was acting distant, especially tonight. Yesterday I asked him if he wanted to go to our spot to watch the stars but he turned me down and said that he needed to study. I could lie and say I wasn't worried, but my hair is falling out from the stress

"Honey!" My mom called up the stairs "The hospital is asking for you. Come down please!"

I sighed not wanting to deal with this. I got up and walked my way to where my mom was holding out the phone

"Hello?" I asked

"Is this Amelia?"

"This is she. What's wrong?"

"Jeff Atkins had you, along with his parents, as his emergency contact" He said making my heart race "He's been in an accident, I'm deeply sorry for your loss"

I looked to my mom feeling tears stream down my face "Am what's wrong?" She asked running over to me

"He's dead"
