“You can call me Alidade.” She scoffed. She made it apparent that under no circumstances did she want to be my friend in anyway what so ever.

“It’s nice to meet you.” I said politely. If I was in her position, I probably wouldn’t like to see my guy with a random girl either.

“So what’s going on here?” She was angry, she had no idea that I was here, and by the looks of it she didn’t want me here any longer.

“Evangeline can you give us a minute?”

“Sure.” I said as I walked inside.  I quickly made my way to the bedroom this is why he wanted me to forget the kiss, this is why he said he shouldn’t have done it. I can’t believe he kissed me when he has a girlfriend! I paced back and forth in his room, trying to figure out what it was that I was going to do. I couldn’t face him. The only thing I could do was leave. After what happened I couldn’t be here anymore, especially since I knew about the kiss.

I heard yelling coming from the living room. I pressed my ear to hear what was happening “Why did you kiss me Allie, you and I haven’t been together for years. I didn’t call you here to get back together with you.”

“What is she? Just another one of your charity case?”

“No Allie, she is not just some charity case, why do you care so much anyway?””

“Then did you just call me over here to torture me some more? To flaunt your new girl in front of me. Really Stephan, you like a human now? What happened to you?”

“Who I like and what I do, are none of your business. Please Allie, I thought we had put this all behind us. Look I’m not good at this sort of thing, so I’m asking you for help, you know I wouldn’t if I didn’t really need it.”

“Fine what do you want?”

“Here's my card, get her some nice clothes, a dress, and whatever else she might need. Don’t worry about what it costs."

“What does she have that I don’t?”

“Please I don’t want to have this conversation now,”

“Fine. Anything else you would like me to do while I’m out like pick up your dry cleaning, or iron your clothes?” she said very sarcastically.

I could hear footsteps getting closer to the door. I quickly made my way to the window and pretended to be staring outside. The door opened about a second later Stephan walked, “Evan?”

“Look Stephan, I should really go. It’s obvious that your girlfriend doesn’t want me here. Especially after what happened between us.”

He walked into the room and closed the door behind him. “Evan what are you talking about? First Allie isn’t my girlfriend. We haven’t been together for almost 200 years, and what do you mean what happened between us?”

“Stephan if she’s not your girlfriend then why did you kiss her?”

“I didn’t kiss her. Since you were listening in, you should know that there’s nothing between us. Wait… why is this so important to you? Back to what you said, what did you mean by what happened between us?”

            “I lied Stephan,”

            “Lied about what?”

I slumped down on the edge of the bed, with my hands on my lap. “It didn’t work, I remember, I remember asking you to compel me, I remember the kiss. I remember everything.”

“Evan I’m not sure what you’re talking about we never kissed.”

“Stephan, don’t. Don’t insult me by pretending that it didn’t happen. I pretended that your compulsion worked, because you obviously didn’t want to kiss me. That hurts enough, you don’t need to pretend that it didn’t happen.”
