Hiding behind a tree stump, I see you stalk me.
I hold my breath. Anticipation builds slowly-
You pause. I freeze. Close my eyes. Keep my wits,
And then suddenly you’re gone, as if evaporated, like mist…
My heart stutters and restarts, searching everywhere for you.
You’re neither here nor there, and I don’t know what to do…
Then your arms are on my waist, lifting me high up in the air.
And I let out a shriek of laughter and cheer.
You swing me, twirling, chuckling in my ear….
Fingers sinking into my sides, making me squeal in delight
I’m laughing, breathless, and it all feels right.
Then your lips find mine, and I’m on solid ground again.
Aqua eyes swirling, you whisper my name.
I'm in heaven at once, your scent making me insane.
My grin starts to spread at the look on your face.
It's naughty, filled with promise, and I'm already saying yes...
My heart beats with yours, in sync, double time.
You're a dark haired angel, sweet soulmate of mine...
I feel comfort, I feel home, enclosed in your arms,
I feel tingly, I feel calm, and I shudder, though I'm warm.
Your mind brushes mine, tenderly, while you smile,
And I feel complete, my life feels worthwhile.
I know just as you know that I was always yours to claim.
My beastly beloved, who I didn't need to tame.
Every moment spent with you is totally sublime,
I'm happy, in love, and so very thankful you’re mine.
