TIME
Time,
It drifts like sand in a storm,
Wickedly wild and untamed
Going forward with purpose
Leaving me wondering
When it will slow
To a stop
Like my life
Ebbing away from me
Hour by hour
Minute by minute
Seconds count. They do.
I wish I had more seconds
Second chances too
To say the things I should have
To make things right
But I’m watching the storm
That holds my life
Like grains of sand
As it drifts…further away from me
My body slowly fades… my mind follows suit
And death awaits me, like a new recruit
Eagerly anticipating my demise
There’s no way to win this battle, nowhere to hide
Only last moments would tell
If I am time's keeper,
Or if time is mine…
