Paper Planes

Do you remember back in 6th grade?
You taught me how paper planes were made.
And we'd play around the backyard of your house,
Chasing each other like a cat and a mouse.

We'd make these paper planes fly,
Til we ran out of breath.
Then we'd pant in deep sighs
While we watch the sun set.

You said you'd be a pilot when you grow up,
That you'd make everybody proud.
And my dream was to get married,
While thinking of you as I said it.

We grew up and grew apart.
You moved to the city and brought my heart.
We have never seen each other again.
But you never left my heart since then.

And right at this moment I never knew,
That I'd be riding on a plane that you flew.
And now you made your dreams come true.
I wonder when mine will too.
