A quick chapter of transgender terminology for all the people who are new to the T In LGBT (If I'm incorrect about one of these or left some out comment on it and I'll fix it)
Trans - Short for transgender, usually not offensive.
Tranny - Slang for transgender, mostly offensive, try to avoid this one.
MTF - Short for Male To Female
FTM - Short for Female To Male
The OP - Short for The OPeration, in reference to gender alteration operations
Bottom/Top OP - An operation that alters your "bottom" or "top" genitalia.
Dysphoria - In reference to gender dysphoria when used in a LGBT context, means discontentment with your body's birth gender. Can be mild or very severe.
Bottom/Top Dysphoria - Discontentment with your "bottom" or "top" genitalia.
Estrogen - Female hormones
Testosterone - Male hormones
Hormone Replacement Treatment - Replacing a transgender's hormones to estrogen or testosterone (MTF change to estrogen and FTM change to testosterone) can make your body more like the gender you want.
