NATALIA POV

I got home very late that night, hoping I wouldn't have a run-in with my parents. Luckily the house was silent and all the lights were out; my parents were either with their friends or passed out on their bed.

I quietly went upstairs to my bedroom and changed into yellow fleece pajama bottoms and an oversized black hoodie. I then grabbed my laptop and laid on my bed with it propped on my stomach like a hot pad.

'Plink, plink' I jumped at the sound of something hitting my window repeatedly. I slowly walked over to my window and slid it open. It made a loud screeching noise and I winced.

Jason was standing in the grass, looking up.

'Hey." he called up.

'Um. Hi.' I said, unsure as to why he was there.

'Can you come down?' He asked, hopeful.

"Why?' I asked.

'I want to talk to you. Do you want to go for a ride."

'Okay...' I said slowly. 'Be right down."

He nodded his head and I slid my window closed and locked it. I went over to my closet and put on a one shouldered white top and black skinny jeans. I slid a white bangle on my wrist, ruffled out my hair and grabbed my black Uggs.

When I went downstairs, I tried not to run but I was too excited for some odd reason.

JASON POV

When Natalia finally got outside, I could see she was grinning ear to ear.

'Hey." I said coolly. 'You look pretty.'

She blushed and looked down. I gently touched her arm and we walked over to my car in awkward silence. Once we got in, she looked around in awe.

''Wow, you are a messy person.' she said, stepping on a Doritos bag.

'Lemme guess. You're one of those neat freaks who has to have everything neat and orderly.' I said, sarcastically.

'Actually no. I'm probably worse.' She said matter of factly.

I stifled a snort. 'Now that I'd like to see.'

'Feel free to pop by my locker any time.' she said.

We went silent for a few minutes. But then I broke the silence. 'Tell me about yourself.' I said.

'What's there to tell?'

'What's your favorite condiment?' I asked.

'Condiment?' she asked. 'You have everything in the world to choose from and you choose that?'

'Look. I hate sitting in silence.' I glanced at her. 'I'm trying my best here.'

'Fine. Its relish.'

I cocked my head to the side. 'Relish? Really.'

'What's so surprising about relish?' she asked.

'Nothing.' I said. 'I just figured you were a ketchup girl.'

'Why?' she looked at me.

'I don't know.'

I saw her roll her eyes out of the corner of my eye. 'What's yours?' she asked.

'Soy sauce.' I said, without missing a beat. 'I can eat it with anything. Even ice cream.'

'That,' she said, 'is disgusting.'

'I disagree. But we'll move on. Favorite room in the house?'

'Bedroom. I like to sleep.' She said.

'Kitchen. I love food.' I said. 'Novels or poetry?'

'Novels. Poetry is too short."

I pointed at myself. 'Totally opposite. Love poems. Salt or pepper?'

'Can't I like both?' she asked.

I gave her a look.

'Okay fine. Salt.' she said, exasperated.

'I like pepper. You know what I realized?'

'What?' she asked and sighed.

'We're opposites.' I said, smiling.

'Your point?' she glanced at me.

'Opposites attract." I winked.

Natalia rolled her eyes. 'Favorite subject?' she asked.

'Math or English.' I said. 'You?'

'Chemistry.'

'Oooh. Thats got to be my worst subject.' I said wincing.

'Makes sense.' she laughed.

'Excuse me?' I asked

'You cant have perfect chemistry with anyone.' she said.

I laughed, then snorted, which in turn got her laughing.

'You're a snorter?' she asked.

'You picked relish.' I pointed out.

'You picked soy sauce.' she said. 'On your ice cream.'

'Okay, okay.' I said, defeated.

She looked at me and I snorted. She laughed and looked away.

Gosh, she was so beautiful.
