Three months later..

The baby was due any time this month.  Garroth was anxious, excited and scared all in one.  It was April eleventh and the two still didn't have a name for their daughter.

"Do you want me in the delivery room or out?"

Aphmau laughed.  "Out.  After she's born then you can come in."

"Makes sense.  I guess."

"I'm so happy it's spring! I usually like to sit by little ponds and rivers, and I'd see Lilies that were starting to bloom. They're really pretty. One time I saw a purple one- Ah! Ow!" Her hand suddenly pressed to her bump.

"G-Garroth, get Zoey. I think my water just broke."

He clumsily got to his feet, running and calling for Zoey. She rushed over immediately, helping Aphmau to the medical room which wasn't too far away.

"A-Aphmau,"

She looked back a second, discomfort plastered over her face. Say it Garroth.

"Aphmau I-I love you."

She smiled, "I love you too," Barley a whisper, as if she mouthed the words to him.

Garroth sat on the chair outside and waited.

•••

Garroth was freaking out. His own mom died from childbirth and now she has to go through that too?

He knew almost nothing about labor and child birth and things like that but he was almost certain that he had been waiting out there for over a couple of hours.

He ran hand through his hair, trying to find a comfortable spot on the chair. Trying to think about every positive thing that could happen after this.

More time passed, and he freaked out even more gene he heard pained cries, almost screams coming out form the room and Zoey's voice behind it.

At this point he wasn't even sure if he was ready to be a father. Or if he would make a good one at that.

In another hour, everything seemed to be over, it was quiet again, except for occasional small cries, he couldn't tell what it was for sure though.

Garroth propped himself up, standing up as Zoey came out of the room and smiled brightly, she had a towel in her hands, drying them. He tried not to pay too much attention to that.

"Everything went fine, Aphmau is doing well, your daughter is.... well, she's beautiful. And Aphmau's asking for you."

He nodded, walking into the room quietly, seeing Aphmau, a little sweaty as she looked exhausted, holding a little bundle of joy in her arms.

He smiled as she quietly greeted him.

"Do you want to hold her?"

"W-What if she cries?" He asked worriedly. He did extend his arms out taking his daughter in his arms.

Zoey was right.

He sat down in the chair next to Aphmau as he admired their beautiful baby girl. Tears of joy ran down his cheeks. Blinking them away, he gave her back to Aphmau and smiled.

Zoey was a huge softie when it came to babies and she was also in tears herself

Zoey took her, placing her on her own bed, trying to give them some time to talk.

"Good job,"

Aphmau shrugged. "Thanks. Do you remember what we were talking about before I kinda went into labor?"

"Um, something about Lilies. You said you liked them a lot in the spring."

"Ah- yes. I do. And speaking of which, I think I might have a name for her."

Her eyes lit up, clapping her hands slightly. She smiled not saying anything as if waiting for Garroth's consent.

"Shoot."

"What do you think about Lilith?"

"It's beautiful. Just like her. And her mother of course."

She blushed lightly. "Garroth I literally just pushed a human being out of me less than an hour ago and you're already giving my compliments? I probably look like a hot mess."

"Hot is an understatement." He shook his head. "But yes, I like the name Lilith."

"Hm, Lilith Ro'meave..."

"W-Who said she was taking my last name?!"

"WellbecausearentweallgoingtobeRo'meaveseventually?" She said way too fast for Garroth to understand.
(Well because aren't we all going to be Ro'meave's eventually?)

"What?"

She turned pink again. "Because she's not taking the last name of a fugitive okay?"

"I guess you have a point. Do you have a middle name for her?"

"I kinda thought of one like right now actually."

Garroth rose a brow, "Well?"

"Lilith Garnet." She paused a moment. "Unless you want Lilith and Garnet to be one hyphenated name."

"I think I would like it being hyphenated, actually."

"Then we need a middle name then,"

"Amaris?"

"I like Amaris," Aphmau nodded, "Lilith-Garnet Amaris Ro'meave."

And on cue, the child started to cry, Aphmau picking her up gently, trying to soothe her as Garroth admired from afar.

He has a family now. And he would love them with everything he had in his heart.
