As I killed the lone god, it suddenly grew to night and the full moon shone bright. The goddess Artemis appeared. I steeled my nerves and let my wings grow larger, until Artemis said,"I am not here to fight."
I let down my guard and released the grip on the handle of my blade.
"What do you want, Artemis?"
She then replied with a most unexpected answer,
"I hate the other gods as much as you do. Join the Hunters' ranks."
Upon hearing that, I knew I could use the Hunters to get closer to the other gods so I could slaughter them all.
"Fine. I'll join the Hunters. But only because you promised me revenge," I finally agreed.
We disappeared in a flash of light and materialised next to the Hunter's campsite, along with Nex and Zack. A hunter suddenly exclaimed when we got here, pointing at Nex, she cried out,
"Zoë Nightshade's brother has returned!"
