A Tea Break Broken

We sat down for a cup of coffee and some ambrosia cookies. We don't usually eat ACTUAL FOOD, but it tasted good, so I got a burger. Chaos was chatting with Nyx and I was minding my own business until Nico came over. It was strange to see him. He was 14 now, 2 years from the last Great War. I, on the other hand, was 18. He had gotten a new jacket made out of Nemean Lion fur, and his new sword made him look deadly. Lethal, even. As we were chatting about random things, void hounds and monsters and all those stuff, a rumble broke our conversation. The ceiling above cracked and a dark hand reached out and grabbed Nico. A doorway appeared and the hand went through it. If I didn't use my sword as a grappling hook to hold on to the hand, Nico would have been lost. As we passed through the doorway, my vision blurred and I nearly passed out. Nico had already fainted from the lack of oxygen, though death could constrain him no more. Turned out, the doorway went to a very familiar place, with many familiar faces, too. Somewhere known as Erebus.
