Advertising.

Advertising is all about getting your story out there. Now, we don't want you making a fool out of yourself but we don't want you to miss a chance to get people interested in your book either. So we created a list of Dos and Don'ts. Hope you find some tips below that are helpful, and last of all... Don't give up. If your story is THAT good, it will eventually get noticed.

Do

1. get your story in perfect shape before trying to advertise. Advertising a story that's still being edited or doesn't have essential items won't do anything to help you.

2. use social media sites to get your story out there. Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Path, Youtube, etc. Check out our Fan Accounts page for more information on social media sites.

3. do look at popular stories and model their examples. For instance, After 3 (imaginator1d) is all any girl in my school is talking about. It's not surprising with its 500 something MILLION views. Why don't you try and spread your own story?

Don't

1. advertise on other people's stories. Unless they specifically say "It's Ok", don't advertise. It's rude and disrespectful of their story.

2. nag people for shout-outs. People truly don't like to open their wattpad accounts and see tons of messages asking for shoutouts.

3. ignore your own story. If you're still writing it, then don't ignore your duties as a writer! Remember that advertising is not hugely important, but a little doesn't hurt.

Good luck!
